What a week in Dubai 🇦🇪🔥

`Team Amsterdam` racing against city teams from all over the world at the incredible Dubai Games challenge!

Burj Khalifa Challenge at tallest sky scraper in the world
160 floors — 33:06 - 22nd place

Seven games testing everything: teamwork, strength, tactics, speed, balance, precision, communication — and many other skills needed to complete each challenge.

We had a strong start — 5 solid games, holding high positions among some of the strongest teams out there.
Game 6 — we couldn’t complete it after missing the basketball station.
Game 7 — the deadlift slowed us down and consumed almost all the allocated time.

Clearly, we weren’t close to the finals this year — but that wasn’t the only point.

What we gained was far more valuable:

🔥 Real teamwork under pressure

Spartan Race Beast World Championship - Abu Dhabi - recap:
Running in heat up to +32°C across endless sand turned out to be tough. About 2 km before the finish I got hit hard, so I deliberately switched into a gentle mode to avoid a repeat of what happened in Sparta year ago. Running in the desert without carbs — never again: once the fuel runs out, you stop thinking about running and just surviving. Even so, stayed around 5th–7th place during the race I still managed to finish 9th in my age group 40-44.
No food but only water on the course was quite a surprise made a hard time for me, plus 30 burpees after the missed spear throw. Hard, but a valuable lesson.

🏁 OCR Athlete Journey — 3 Spartan Races in Hvar 🇭🇷

1️⃣ Spartan Race Beast – Hvar – Elite – 9th 💪
Fantastic race! Tons of pleasure, strong performance, and a tricky rocky ⛰️ course with three swimming stages 🏊.
My favorite place to race 🤩

2️⃣ Spartan Race Sprint World Championship – Hvar – Age 40–44 – 2nd 🥈
What a sprint! One of the most exciting races in my memory!
Pushed hard through first peace and passed some athletes on the swimming section, followed the leader Marten CZ, caught up on the uphill castle bag carry — together with James GBR — and all three of us blasted downhill through the narrow city streets and stairs, pushing people aside to pass!
Jumped into the last water section, nailed the spear throw 🎯, jumped back in, swam as hard as I could. I saw Marten ahead with a 30-sec gap — James missed the spear. Tried to close it, but the gap was too big.
Finished 2nd 🥈, just 18 seconds behind — great result and full of confidence to come back stronger 💪🔥

3️⃣ Spartan Race Super – Hvar – Open – 2nd Overall 🥈
To complete trifecta, Fun race again — enjoyed the variation of the course on this beautiful island 🌴
Great tempo training uphill, downhill, swimming, trails, and along the rocky coastal path 🤩

Three races, one island, endless memories. Spartan Hvar — you never disappoint! 🇭🇷🔥

What a weekend in Gothenburg, Sweden, 🇸🇪
OCR World Championship.

Three races - three bronze 🥉🥉🥉

🇺🇦 Short Course Age 40-44 - fast and challenging, no major mistakes, but could catch up two strong guys, and finished o

🇺🇦 Standart Course Age 40-44 - long, exciting sunny race, many obstacles, with a good start, keeping 4th place, I reached the ropes obstacle where got stuck waiting for other athlete to free up the line, and lost 4-5 positions. Then had to catch up one by one, and trying to catch up, was hard but quite successful. till the finish line, no major mistakes p I reached the third place and happy to get it 💪

🇳🇱 Compatitive Mixed Team race - together with Merel and Rick, under the full rain, concurrd all the obstacles with no lost braslets. 💪💪💪

A lot of pleasure to compete on such level against the best OCR Athletes.

Пару слов о Spartan Race Ukraine в Киеве в прошлую Субботу: День бёрпи 😰

Отличная гонка в ланшафтах Крюковщины,
Погода вовсе не зимняя, сыро и свежо.
Держал свой темп, приближаясь к лидерам, натягались мешков, ведер, корыт, и тут копье со своей непредсказуемость,
Опять мимо - 30 бёрпей, добросовестно отпрыгал, и полетел вперед. И тут последнее препятствие оказалось с подвохом, спартанские шлемы с переходомна трубу, труба холодная и скользкая, иду в блоке, перехожу на шлем, не попадаю рукой в захвал, оставшись в блоке на одной руке, мышцы 💪 быстросо разогнулись, и я на полу… 30 бёрпи, никаких повторов… вобщем финишировалпятый, а из-за штрафа Димона, поднялся на четвертый.

Тренируемся дальше,

What a tough race last Saturday… +2 degrees, everithing wet, all moning rain 🌧 and wet snow ❄️, real survival run. I took KSR 9 km with ~50 obstacles in Hang-On Run. I love such challanges, and luckly I managed to finish before my body got overcooled 🥶
To my surprise I got on 8th position what was my the best result in licensed survivalrun races.
Never give up ⬆️

Expromt competition for me in Combatzone: Indoor Obstacle Hall today!

One of my favorite places,
This time with a bit of running, 5 rounds of 600m run +2 lines of obstacles. So 3 km + 10 lines of indoor obstacles.

23min 40sec, no issues, just some struggling on peg bloks, hanging couple of mins trying to stabilize those blocks… 🥵 Finally survived and finished it with a good result.

With ~2min from , who was truly champion today, congratulations 👏

Some words about last weekend Race Nation in Dnipro,
my lovely home town, where I spend most of my live.

Due to injury in Alpine I had to make a break with running, and couldn't run, only walking... But the day before race, I tried to complete easy 10 km run in Kramatorsk chock hills, and was excited and inspired to subscribe for Race Nation run.

It was quite hot, parkour is located on send river beach. 5km course was not very competitive, but still some athletes demanding to keep tempo higher. Trying to avoid overload and overheating, I was moving with comfortable tempo, and enjoying this feeling that I can run again 😅
I was lucky with throwing spare, and make some gap from the follower.

Finally I finished with 🏅 1st position in Elite wave with 3 minutes gap from the closest follower.

Fair to mention that in Team Elite race there was better result froь Влад Харенко with 6 seconds faster. so next time meet him in Elite ;)

I'm quite happy with result, and looking forward to train again!

Small story about exciting victory!
Combatzone: Indoor Obstacle Hall

Only obstacles indoor parcours with rings/ropes/pegbords/low rigs/monkey bars/etc…

Qualification round: ~5min - 1 place 🥇
Final round: ~7:45 (-5min bonus obstacle) - 1 place 🥇

Quite lucky day, and obstacles which I love to do 😅

Amazing family in very friendly and cozy environment, see you on next events

Next challenge is - week in alps, and Spartan in Czech Liberec.
