Where racing begins!! The coaches support the progression of each rider by working with them on their weak points.

With the start of the Honda Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup in 2011 the organization set a goal to fill the gap in The Dutch road race motorsport between the pocket bike, the moped races and the NSF Cup, riding the smaller kart circuits, and the 600cc talent cups and Open Dutch championship rounds on the international race circuits. The initiators of the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup, Ten Kate Racing Products,

KNMV and CRT developed a concept which made it possible for young pilots to race on a professional level against an affordable budget and with personal attention from coaches with international race experience. The major starting point of the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup was, and still is, that all material and with that the possibilities to excel for all riders, must be as equal as possible. For this reason all maintenance and preparation of the Moriwaki bikes is done in the workshop of Ten Kate Racing Products in Nieuwleusen. Additional every rider is assigned a bike by lottery every few events. Due to the absolute equality in material the talented riders will emerge from the pack quicker which makes it easier for them to be picked up by scouts for the racing classes following the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup. Additional support for the riders off the track is available in the form of workshops covering (motor)technics, media training and fitness training. In this way the riders skills are developed both on and off the track to prepare them to step-up to a follow-up class like the Red Bull Rookies Cup or the Moto3. In 2013 the Moriwaki 250 junior Cup delivered his first rider to the GP circuit. Livio Loi, a 2011 Moriwaki contender, qualified for the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2012. Already after one season the talent of Livio was noticed in the GP circuit and in 2013 and 2014 he will continue as a permanent rider in the Moto3. Also double champion (2011, 2012) Bo Bendsneijder and 2013 champion Robert Schotman will compete in 2014 in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. In other Dutch championships you will see many more former Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup rider. After three seasons we proudly can conclude that:

The Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup offers a rider the right opportunities to develop their skills to a level required to step up to the (inter)national race divisions. The race level of within the cup is high given the fact that riders are able to compete within an international riders field.

As announced on the 28th of september this year, the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup will definitely end. This means that 2016 was the last racing season.

We still get questions from people hoping the cup will continue. But we are very sorry to say that unfortunately the curtain fell for the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup.

We would like to give our outstanding thanks to all our loyal sponsors, our volunteers and the KNMV for the support, enthousiasm and determination which enabled the fantastic results of the last years!

We hope that all former Moriwaki riders can develop and proof their skills in the future and find their ways in motorcycle racing!

Race 2 was a special one!

The second race of this weekend was very important for several reasons:
1. It was the final race of the season in which the riders could earn point for the 2016 championship.
Meikon Kawakami is the winner of the 2016 Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup championship. Peetu Paavilanen second and Jeffrey Buis third.

2. After race 2 would be announced which riders get a selection event ticket for the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
Meikon Kawakami, Peetu Paavilainen and Jeffrey Buis are the lucky ones.

3. This race counted together with the first race yesterday for the Liquid Rubber Trophy.
Jeffrey Buis won this trophy. Yesterday he won race 1 and he finished second in race 2 today.

4. It was the last race of the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup after six years when the 250 Junior Cup was founded.

Race 2
On a dry but chilly track the Moriwaki riders started the second race of this BSB weekend.
After the start the Dutch wildcard rider Loran Faber took the lead for the first two laps. The Brazilian Meikon Kawakami fought back from the fourth position in lap 1 and overtook Faber in the third lap. After another position switch of the two in lap 4 Faber rode the rest of the race at the fourth place. In front of him there was a serious fight going on between Meikon Kawakami, Peetu Paavilainen and Jeffrey Buis. This group of four fighters was so eager to win that a gap existed between them and the rest of the field. In the end it was Paavilainen who won the race followed by Buis who overtook Kawakami in the last lap. Koers could not get to the leading group and finished fifth after Faber.
The Dutch wildcard rider Ruben Bijman unfortunately crashed in the fifth lap. Alonso was not able to start the race because of engine problems on the grid.

Thank you all for your support!!

Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup, where racing begins!

No rain but a wet track
Saturday started as a cloudy but dry day. Just half an hour before the start of the race, which was scheduled at 17:35 hours, it started to rain. After a delay of 20 minutes the 250 juniors started on rain tires on a wet track. The young heroes started together with the Moto 3 riders.
After one lap it was the Dutch wildcard rider Faber who passed the finish line first followed by Buis, Paavilainen, Kawakami and Koers. This would be the leading group for the rest of the race in which the battle for the victory took place. Until lap 9 Faber was able to be the leader in this race until he made a mistake in the Geert Timmer corner, which gave Buis the opportunity to take the lead and win the first race of this weekend. Faber finished second before Koers and Kawakami.
Unfortunately Fröde crashed in lap 6 and the Japanese wildcard rider Okaya in the out lap. Liebschner couldn't finish the race because of engine problems in the first lap.
