Wow, it has been a rollercoaster with our move to North Carolina which made us not concentrate on racing for a few weeks.

However, this weekend we were finally able to do some racing again. Around our new home there are many choices for racing but we decided to keep it simple and we went for an indoor competition.

This is really cool, 6 races with about 40 kids on an indoor track with 4 strokes karts. Very competitive and a great group!

Best part is that especially mom and dad are not working on karts all day :-).

Florian and Luca did very well for a 1st time on a new track and karts they are not used too.

The setup is really cool, 3 groups who run a qualifying (3 laps) and go straight in to pre-finals (8 minutes). If you end up in the top 3 in the pre-finals you go straight to the A finals. If not, you will either do C or B final. The top 3 of the C and B finals will also join the A finals. So C and B are like a 2nd chance to run in the Main Final, the A final.

Florian had some bad luck and got bumped out in the pre-Finals but still manager to end 5th in the B finals, which would be 16th overall.

Luca was able to get a 5th place spot right to the A Finals after finishing 2nd in his pre-finals. Also Luca got bumped out but ended up being 7th overall. For a 1st time these are excellent results!!

Can't wait for this weekend to try again!

The last two weeks were all about karting and getting prepared to survive the Canadian Finals organised by Max Karting Group.

We started with camping 2 days at the Greg Moore track in Chilliwack to do some final tests and to pack all the gear to be transported to Warburg.

after a 2-day drive with a layover in chase we arrived at the EDKRA track in Warburg. Sadly it was windy and raining so we hoped for better weather and we got it! the following days we combined practicing and some fun at the waterpark with the other karting kids!

With an official practice day on Friday we started the official races on Saturday. Both boys did an excellent job and showed that they really have improved since last year. Luca even managed to get a P5 in the Pre-Final! With a 6th position overall on Saturday we were very pleased.

Florian also showed he is able to catch up with all the older and more experienced kids. Being the youngest one in the group is quite hard but he managed well!

On Sunday we had a quite harder day. Luca qualified P10 which placed him in the outer site of the starting grid. For two times the kids were too slow, and the left site left before they did and this way it was hard to catch up. However, both boys did what they needed to do, fight for every spot and stay on top of it.

Luca still managed on a P8 overall which is a great result looking at the fact we did not train a lot last months! well done!

In the end we managed to do what we wanted to do! Learn, get better and being eager to return next year to get that Podium!

This all would not have been possible without great coaches, Blake Choquer and Ziming from BBR Autosport, and the mechanics always being so helpful, thanks Garret and Liam for all the (mental) support!

Also thanks to the support from Overdrive Motorsports bringing some last minute parts and off course our competitive BBR Autosport team mates for challenging us on the track, Jack Klym from Condie Racing and Matteo Pai. We had a great time and let's continue this great and positive competition!

Big shout out to Canadian Karting News, awesome pictures and great updates and reports!

Thanks to anyone we forget for making this such a great event, see you in 2025!

Day 1 of the Canadian Finals is in the books!

We did what we came for, practice and improve! All with the common ups and downs but with satisfying results. Good pace and eager for more.

Luca got a great P5 in the pre final and P8 in the final which resulted in a P6 overall, well done!

Florian was really getting used to the kart and speed but showed some great moves. He even did some offroading and managed to go on track again without any damage :-).

Awesome job boys! We are ready for day 2!

After spending a week practicing on the EDKRA Warburg Rotax track, today was the 1st official day to prepare for the Canadian finals by Max Karting Group.

Very proud to be part of the BBR Autosport team and looking forward to some exciting but most importantly fun days!

We'll keep you updated throughout the weekend!

Today we definitely have the Monday blues...

What was supposed to be a great weekend was a mix of sun and rain and ups and downs in the karts.

We surely enjoyed being a part of the NXT GP Dutch Open and enjoying this great race event. We really hope to be back someday soon and have a do-over!

For driving in a Tillotson kart for the second time in their lives the boys did very well. Florian was improving all the time and closing into other drivers, very well done.

Luca was less fortunate, after a great start on Friday he should have been able to be in at least the midfield but sadly on Sunday we never got his kart running properly and he did not have to chance to compete at all. He did learn a lot but was sad not being able to race.

A big shout out to our top mechanic Tristan Kroone and Mike Onstenk for being a great sport and helping us out. Also, we could not have done this adventure without Pitparts.nl. Thank you for all the support and see you soon!

It has been way toooooo long but finally we are back on track!

This weekend we are racing with Tillotson Racing karts again with NXT GP Dutch Open in Emmen.

Today it's training day, getting used to the 4 stroke engine and a new track. Just having fun and learning a lot...

Better late than never...

We had another great event last weekend from WCKC, Race #3. The Micro-Mini class is still up there with 17 kids this weekend! Great competitive class.

After doing some trainign in Edmonton it was nice to be back at our home track. Boys saw all their racing friend again so one big party.

The weather was great so that was a great start. On saturday we could train again and since we got our karts back in one piece we luckily had not much work to do. Both boys looked confident and were ready for raceday on sunday!

Sunday was a day full with great and lesser situations. Luca satrted eager and because of that some mistakes where made which give his little brother the opportunity to start in fornt of him twice :-).

We were very clear they should work together and not block each other. They, lucky for us parents, listened and drove some great races.

practice was not the best because of too many kids too close to each other and Florian (128) got P11 and Luca (179) P12 for the Qualifying session.

For the qualification the main goal was to get more to the front. Both boys did well and Luca ended up in P4 and Florian P8, great result to start in the Pre-Finals.

Sadly the pre-final was an eventfull race with too much touching and crashes but in the end Florian managed to end in P4 and Luca in P6 for being to eager in the last turn and span after some off roading :-). Both did very well in going around the crashes we had, so that is an important lesson too.

The Finals started great but sadly Florian got torpedo'd off with an suicidal move of another racer. A DNF for him but he was racing for P4 and know what he can do for next race.

Also Luca had some bad luck with accidents but luckily managed to go around and got a beautifull P4!

But more intersting is that he drove 2nd best time of the group and 1st best time of the Micro-Group. We were all very impressed and know he is close to a podium. Cross our fingers for next time and for now we are happy with the results.

We like to thank BBR Autosport for the great coaching and mechinical support!

Edmonton! Here we come!

This weekend we had the pleasure of driving and competing at the EDKRA raceway in Warburg. It was a great weekend and we felt very welcome at the track thanks to all the great volunteers.

Since this was our first time competing on another track we took all friday for practicing which was a great opportunity to learn the track.

On Saturday we had Race #1 to really show what we learned on Friday. The boys showed their skills and did very well. Still, lots to learn but most importantly they had fun and showed some nice racing skills competing with each other on track during the pre-finals and finals. Florian managed to keep his big brother behind him during both events which was of course frustrating but also a good learning moment for both of them.

On Sunday the event was more challenging. Luca set a P6 for Qualifying and Florian P7, they had work to do. During the start of the Pre-Finals, we had a crash and the boys managed well through. This situation opened up an opportunity for both of them. Luca did very well with a P4 but sadly Florian was pushed off track and had a DNF.

During the Finals Florian had to start at the back and sadly got pushed off track again by the same kid. He did hold up well and did finish the race. Sometimes we do forget he is only seven and we should be proud of his perseverance for keeping up with all these 2-3 year older boys.

Luca did an awesome job and was very close to finishing P3! Even after being part of some spinning karts he held up well and showed some really nice passing skills!

To make a long story short, we had a great weekend! But we could not have done it without the great coaching and support of Blake from BBR Autosport and his great team! Thank you Liam, Garret and Don for helping us out this weekend.

Also a big thank you to Jack of Condie Racing and Mateo for being great neighbors and showing us some awesome racing!

See you in Chilliwack next weekend!

WCKC Race #2

Another great race at Greg Moore Raceway with the West Coast Kart Club. Early in the week rain was expected so rain tires got ordered but suddenly, as the weather always does in BC, it gave us lots of sun!

It was a great weekend and with the coaching of BBR Autosport and Luca as our mechanic we were heading for lots of learning moments.

Saturday was a great practice day with many new insights and the boys were having lots of fun. Luca got a personal best time, which is great. You can see they are improving and it is great to see how they respond to the coaching.

On Sunday we had another great day and now also Florian got his personal best time! Great job!

Sadly Luca his sunday was less fortunate. First, a bumper penalty in the pre-final because the kid behind him kept bumping him hard into the kid in front of him during the start procedure, and in the final, we had mechanical issues which made Luca come off track before the end of the race.

Most importantly, the boys had fun, worked together, and are more eager to grow and improve!

Next race; BC Summer series, see you on the Island!

Also many thanks to Overdrive Motorsports for shipping our parts so fast😀!

WCKC Race #1 at Greg Moore Raceway

Last weekend the first race of the year was planned. We had no expectations since we did not do a whole lot of practice in the winter but what a great weekend it turned out to be.

We also had a professional film crew walking around making a series about the ROTAX Micro and Mini drivers which made it extra fun!

Saturday was a rainy day so we kept it slow and just tried to practice some wet runs. We already were preparing for a sunny Sunday so the boys had no pressure.

Sunday Raceday, blue skies and a bright sun! This is going to be a beautiful day.

We started a new class this year, Micro-Mini ROTAX which means we have 15 drivers with the same engine specs which resulted in a great racing experience for all the kids!

The training was all good but qualifying was a bit rough with a mistakenly shown red flag but all the kids did well and very proud with their skills to react quickly on the situation.

The pre-final showed us all the kids kniw how to race clean and ended up for a P4 for Luca but got promoted after a bumper time penalty for another driver to P3. Florian is adjusting quickly and set a record time ending up P8.

FINALS: Luca started as P3, drove a really clean race and managed to end up P2! extremely proud on this kid!
Florian did also very well, sometime we forget he is just seven but he did beat his personal fastest lap by going under the minute! amazing job!

The Racing Brothers learned so much this weekend and they can't wait till the next event!

Many thanks to BBR Autosport and this weekend especially Don Choquer for being there when we needed the help.

Also a shout out to Overdrive Motorsports on being so flexible and fast getting us the right parts!

What a week!

We are close to the first race but before we do we need to do some more training.

This week we spend 2 days on track with great coaching from BBR Autosport. We worked hard as a family and learned a lot! Great experience.

The boys also had there 1st taekwondo belt ceremony and passed the wood breaking test.

So proud!

Almost ready 2 race!
