This is a special one guys, Te Hauora Campbell Te Campbell is calling time on his journey here at ’t Gooi and in the Netherlands.

Te first joined us in 2017 with his good mate Karlos, and instantly made his presence known, bringing a new style of rugby to the Netherlands. He arrived with flair, an unbelievable attacking sense, and an understanding of the game we had not seen before. Te was a force that year, helping guide the team to an Ereklasse Championship.

Te’s career here has been full of accolades – 2x Ereklasse Championships, a BeNe Cup, Club 7s Championship, 150+ club games for ’t Gooi, and an international career spanning over 30 caps for his beloved Oranje. His style of rugby inspired a new generation here in the Netherlands – the sidesteps, the gooseys, the flair. Te played a major role in inspiring many of the international players coming through today.

What most people saw was what he did on the pitch, but those who knew Te will remember him for much more than rugby. He has been a pillar of our club for a long time. His character helped shape our culture; he treated everyone like family, saw the good in people, and was always making friends wherever he went. In recent years, Te was able to take the field with players he once coached as youth players, and later alongside them for the Dutch national team – a special moment for a proud man.

Te now returns to the other side of the world to begin a new chapter. While we are sad to see him go, we know he will leave the same impact wherever he lands.

The trophies, tries, and highlights will always be remembered, but Te’s true legacy at ’t Gooi goes far beyond rugby. It lives in the friendships he built, the players he inspired, and the culture he helped create. He arrived as a talented rugby player, but leaves as a club legend, mentor, and friend to so many.

From everyone at ’t Gooi, thank you, Te. Thank you for the memories, the passion, the laughs, and the countless moments of magic. You will always have a home here, and you will always be part of the ’t Gooi family.

We wish you nothing but success, happiness, and adventure in the next chapter.

Once a Gooi boy, always a Gooi boy.

The next one we say goodbye to is Keelan Murrell.

Keelan joined us this season after finishing his season in Perth, and quickly became a strong figure in our selection. He also came with a very unique personality, one that helped mould our culture over the season. Sadly his season was cut short due to a concussion, whilst in the middle of a hot streak of form.

Keelan came from a high-level background, representing NZ in touch, his skills and IQ showed very early in the season. It felt like every week he was covering a different position, but for someone of his talent, he seemed to slot everywhere seamlessly. Keelan also had a knack for bringing boys together off the field, he showed his culture with honour, and was a main driving force behind all the laughs and fun after the game, this is something that brings clubs together.

Keelan will soon be making his way to Ireland soon, where we’re sure he’ll make a very strong impression there. We look forward to seeing you back at the club!

This season we also say goodbye to Stuart McReight 😢

Stuart first came to ‘t Gooi in 2016 for 1 season as a youngster, and returned 10 years later with his partner Amy to experience the Netherlands again.

Stuart has been a rock in our scrum for the last 2 seasons, and was so reliable around the park in his weekly 80 minute performances. But also off the field, Stuart was known for his outgoing and approachable personality, he probably enjoyed a beer more than anyone in the squad.

Last weekend Stuart unfortunately broke his ankle, and will be ending his stint prematurely. But this year we will make sure to send him off with a championship 🏆

The season is nearing the end, and this year we will be saying a sad goodbye to some players as they take new steps in their lives.
0 first joined us for the 22/23 season, and had to leave multiple times due to knee injuries, some how he kept finding his way back home to 💙

Known for his darts (on and off the field), High rugby IQ, and elite fitness at the ho**er position. Scott has been an immense part of our squads success over the last few years. But what Scott will really be remember for was his loving, funny personality, weird noises, and horrible dances moves. Such a unique person, that will dearly be missed.

Thank you for all the memories Scott, lets send you home with a championship. 🏆
