In addition UM Career Services links students of Maastricht University to the job market in various ways.

Would you like to explore the volunteering options in Maastricht? Then the Get Involved Market is the right place to go! As part of the Wellbeing Week, there will be a market in the Student Services Centre where many organisations that are looking for volunteers will be present. Swipe to have a look at some of the organisations that will be there. You can ask all your questions and have a chat with current volunteers and staff members. Next Tuesday, 17 September, we are starting again with the Walk-in hours: Career & Wellbeing. During this free walk-in moment twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday between 13:00 - 15:00) you can ask a trained student anything about your career or your wellbeing and they will give you advice. This can be for example, a CV or LinkedIn check, but it can also be a question about where you can meet people or what kind of volunteering opportunities we offer.

The walk in hours: Career & Wellbeing are in the Inner City Library on the ground floor. When you go through the gates, the office on the left of the front office.

Joyce inspired all you students with words about the importance of starting your personal and professional development journey right at the beginning of your studies, so that we can provide you with maximum support. After that, Romy gave the workshop 'Unlock your full potential: How to get the most out of your college life'. A workshop designed to help students grow both personally and professionally during their time at Maastricht University.

The words the student uses in the article is exactly what we always say: ‘You can never start too early’. Working on your personal and professional development is something that should run parallel to your studies. It includes thinking about balance, thinking about what matters to you and what you want to contribute to society, about where you can find the right support from the right people.✨

As UM Career Services from the department Personal & Professional Development we provide free trainings and career advice for UM students, so you can always ask for help when you feel you are stuck or when you want to work on yourselves. After all, building your future is a lifelong journey and there are multiple times in life that you have to reinvent yourselves. Time to meet another student working for the Personal and Professional Development Team: Effrosyni! 🎓💼 Effrosyni is from Greece, and is studying Psychology here in Maastricht. Her own dream job would be to work in a psychotherapeutic setting. Effrosyni's motivation to work for Career Services comes from her own professional journey, she has been through many career changes herself and is now happy to help other students in following their path! Time to meet another student working for the Personal and Professional Development Team: Yutaro! 🎓💼 Yutaro joined our team in June this year. He is originally from Tokyo, but is now enjoying life here in Maastricht, studying Digital Society at FASoS. In the future, Yutaro would love to work in the entertainment industry. His favourite moments working for CS so far have been the ones when he could help students develop their career using his experience: ''Since I have some experiences in corporate development and corporate communications, it is always a nice moment to make a good use of them and provide effective services with students.'' So next time you join a Career Services event, Yutaro might be the one helping you!
