The Ultimate Final hurrah for Farnborough Jets! ⚽️

This weekend we traveled to tournament in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
With some help from Frankie, Sophia and Tom of and himself we managed to secure yet another trophy!! 🏆🥳🎉🎉

This was the best way to end the 12 year run of many generations of legendary Farnborough Jets!! ✈️

Thank you to everyone who has contributed and helped to run the club since it’s beginning, many milestones were reached and records set!
Wishing all our past and recent players all the best at their new clubs!! GOOO JETS!!!! 🛩️

Farnborough Jets and friends went out for their last hurrah this weekend at tournament!

We seemed to have experienced all the weather on Saturday, but that didn’t stop us from getting past some serious competition throughout the day, eventually claiming the trophy 🏆 🥳

certainly know how to throw a party! This years theme was 90’s neon and what fun it was!!!
Overall a fantastic weekend!
Big thanks to everyone who organised such an excellent event!

Last weekend Jets were celebrating the 2023/24 season with food, drinks, awards, music, and more 🎉🎉🎉

It’s been a fantastic season for all three teams to finish on, and congrats to all of our award winners! 🏆

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us, and shoutout to Laura, Viktor, and Josh for organising the night for us 🥳

Last night was Farnborough Jets’ last training session 🎉

It was great to see so many players join us, both current club members as well as those who have played for us in the past - thank you all for coming along! 🥳

But don’t fear, we’re not done yet! We’ll be celebrating this season and the club as a whole next month, plus we hope to send a team to a few summer tournaments too - we’ll see you there ☀️

FINAL MATCH RESULTS

It was an emotional weekend for Jets as we played our final league matches as a club 🥺 but what a weekend to finish on! 🥳

✈️ Jets 1 were up first on Super Saturday for the final matches of the WRL, facing Bristol Thunder 2 - and oh what a game it was, a strong performance from the whole squad! Each and every player put everything into this match, we left it all on court and fought for every goal against a relentless Bristol Thunder team. A win would have been great, but a 23-23 draw is a nice way to end the season!

✈️ On Sunday we then had a couple of matches for Jets 3, which unfortunately we had to forfeit due to injuries and illnesses. However we still wanted to play our final matches of the season, starting with Guildford Thunder 2! Always a good match against our neighbours, both teams played incredibly well to finish with a 16-16 draw (officially 0-15).

✈️ Next Jets 3 faced Reading Rooks 3 (another forfeit). Though we were plagued by injuries in this match, thanks to a little help from our friends - shoutout to Tom C - we kept going, got the goals in, and managed to win overall 13-8 (officially lost 0-15).

✈️ Our final ever league match as a club was Jets 2 vs Oxford City 4. We knew this would be a tough match, especially with lots of tired legs, but we worked hard as a team to give it everything we had. It would have been the cherry on the cake to win this one, however it wasn’t quite to be as we lost 18-20, but we want to thank Oxford City for the great match ❤️

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

We wanted to share an update with everyone regarding the future of Farnborough Jets Korfball Club, as sadly we will be folding at the end of this season.

This hasn’t been an easy decision to make and we’ve been working to find a solution to keep the club going, but after multiple discussions, it’s clear that the club will not be financially viable next year due to a lack of members.

We’re looking forward to our final matches for all three teams in the next few weeks. When the season comes to an end, the club will officially close.

We want to thank everyone who has given their time and energy to Jets over the years, from our founding members to our latest recruits - we appreciate you all, and hope to see you continuing korfball at our neighbouring clubs next year!

Our final training session will be held on Wednesday 10th April, 7.30-9pm at Frogmore Leisure Centre. We would love for as many Jets players, past and present, to join us as possible!

It was a successful day for the 1st team’s final home match of the season 🏆

✈️ Jets 1 were up against Cardiff Raptors 1. It was a tough game, as we were going goal for goal pretty much the entire match. But we showed great stamina and teamwork while keeping the goal-hungry Raptors 🦖 at bay to secure a 23-20 win
