SUP 11-City Tour

Besides the ultimate challenge the SUP 11-City Tour is also an unique experience.

Athletes from all around the world take on the 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 as they paddle 220 kilometers (136 miles) through the 11 historical cities of beautiful Friesland (The Netherlands) in all kinds of weather conditions Athletes will experience the ultimate challenge as they paddle 220 kilometers (136 miles) in five days with weather conditions varying from windless, beautiful and sunny to cold, rain

y and stormy. Over 100 national and international paddlers get to know Friesland from the water. Open fields with windmills, cows, and sheep will present itself along the water ways exchanged by eleven historical cities built from 1700 onwards. Participants paddle the original waterways, where the ice skaters started conquering this historical tour 101 years ago on frozen waters. SUP 11-City Supporters come from all over the country and from all over the world to Friesland to encourage participants from bridge to bridge, and from town to town.

Unfortunately, Carlo Arias also had to end his NON-Stop challenge in Âldtsjerk.

A tough way to see the race come to an end after so many hours on the water. For now, the most important thing is rest and recovery. 💪🏼🍀

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗴𝘂𝘆𝘀! 💙

Unfortunately, Romain Brunet, Frederic Ducry and James Fletcher have had to end their NON-Stop challenge.

Romain and James were taking on the route prone, while Frederic was paddling SUP. All three put in a huge effort out there.

Time to recover now. Wishing you all a good rest and a smooth recovery. 💪🏼

Daylight is gone and the NON-Stop moves into a completely different phase.

The temperature drops, the route gets darker and the kilometres start to feel different. Lights on, focus sharp and still a long way to go.

This is where the night begins. 💪🏼

Yesterday, the first athletes arrived at Stadsstrand Leeuwarden for the 13th edition of the SUP 11-City Tour NON-Stop.

Profile photos were taken, old friends met again, everyone enjoyed a good plate of pasta and we wrapped up the evening with the skippers meeting.

15 solo paddlers, 4 teams and 1 tandem. All with the same goal: make it around the eleven cities and back to Workum.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗡𝗢𝗡-𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 🌬️

Due to the strong (head)winds expected tomorrow, especially across the larger lakes early in the route, the SUP 11-City Tour NON-Stop will start and finish in Workum instead of Leeuwarden.

That means the paddlers will pass the cities at different times than usual, and the night section will take place on another part of the route.

A different start, but the same 220 kilometres, the same 11 cities and the same NON-Stop spirit. We’re ready. 💪🏼

You can follow the NON-Stop throughout Saturday and Sunday via our livestream, with Mello Boer - MelloFilms going live every hour on YouTube-channel!

The award ceremony on Sunday will still take place at Stadsstrand Leeuwarden.
