On the 27th of July, we were invited to attend a special skirm, which was World War 2 themed.
Thanks to our quartermaster Reaper we could somewhat correctly dress all 6 attending team members in German soldier attire. Vielen Dank Kamerad!
We were assigned to three different combat groups. Chief and Rambo were assigned to the Kampfpatrouile (combat patrol) on the right flank, Fluffer and Reaper were sent to the combat patrol on the left flank. Meanwhile Soap and Ivan pulled guard duty at our headquarters.
The right flank attacked towards Hamburger-hill, the left flank was tasked to clear the village and try to overrun Hamburger-hill (we still don't know if this hill was named after the slab of meat on a bun or the hanseatic city in the Reich)
Although bored to death Soap and Ivan held the guard and observed the terrain in front of them, not even the smallest movement escaped their attention.
Then the order came! When reinforcements arrived Soap and Ivan could assist the assault on Hamburger-hill. Reinforcement came in the form Fluffer who was wounded and after visiting the first aid went back into battle and despite his name he is combat proven and a loyal Kamerad in battle.
The squad led by Ivan went on a recon patrol investigating the right flank of the Anglo-American allies and after linking up with friendly forces they joined the siege of Hamburger-hill which would pale the sieges of Brest-Litovsk and Sevastopol!
At one attack Chief suffered a leg injury which knocked him out of battle and was brought back to the dressing station, word came back that he can walk again! Please Chief, give the Krankenschwester greetings from your comrades of the Zweite Kompanie! We hope the general will award him the wound badge.
In the end however the battle turned into a stalemate and ended in a draw.
At this point we would like to thank Paul for the invite and especially Reaper for providing gear, equipment and even the airsoft guns to attend this skirm.
We made new friends and we are already waiting for the next invitation to battle side by side with our new found comrades!
