smiles for miles for Dirk Cornelis and his Junior, who drove up all the way from Belgium to collect his first REAL DEAL Peter Thommen shaped GLIDE265LTD, the original Glidewonder Concept Shape. Dirk started windsurfing on a real Windsurfer with teak boom, from there on he went thru all the phases to fall in and out of love with the Mother of all Funsports now aiming to get back into shape gliding the Glide and pass on his passion to his son. it was a real pleasure meeting you Dirk, wish you many happy years sailing your new stick.

OK ok ok ok there's some Thommen friends who got inspired to make our GLIDE265 glide up even earlier - I don't know how much quicker it planes up, but still's a damned cool project from from Innsbruck.

FAST-R² *NEW*

Go Faster, Easier.

“There are fast boards or easy boards.” That was the common belief—past tense. Now, we’ve managed to combine both concepts: you can go faster and do it easier. Introducing the new Fast-R² models.

For too long, we’ve watched slalom and race board development moving toward increasingly extreme designs. Each season has brought a new must-have feature for best-ever downwind dash performance. At the same time, we watched our friends mostly sailing back and forth – across the wind – on boards designed to excel on a very different course. We’ve found ourselves wondering what’s that all about.

We listened to ever more frequent complaints about how harsh and difficult the “new” boards were, and how sailing them took its toll on everyone’s knees and backs. Yet our peeps were willing to suffer through it all, because “boys just wanna go fast”.

We’ve seen you struggle. We’ve been listening, observing, contemplating. Building upon what we’ve learned through our Gleitwunder Concept, we knew the go-fast community needed a new tool. The Fast-R². Designed for everyone who just wants to go faster up, down and across the wind. Without struggle, without pain.

Fast-R² Design Characteristics

Longer outlines allow for smoother rocker lines and improved efficiency in planing performance, especially in the lower and mid-strength wind ranges.
Continuous double-concave and Vee bottom contours provide lift at lower initial speeds, favor increasing and maintaining lift, and delivering smoother rides even in rough waters.
The boards rely on their bottom designs rather than on oversized fins to produce lift. This difference in concept reveals itself favorably sailing across the wind and through the wind range. Going fast-r² on all points of sail.
Moderate step-rails provide a comfortable stance and enhance control.
A recessed mast track position allows for better sail positioning and more effective power transfer.

HOLY TRIDENT - our Ride 255 just got a big thumbs up from German SURF, thanks for taking it for a spin Stephan!!

here's the overseas translation (by google) >>>

HOLY TRIDENT
Shaping icon Peter Thommen presents a daring concept with the Thruster Freerider.
Here's your quick and reliable buying guide for the Thommen Ride in 60 seconds: Are you looking for a freeride board that starts planing quickly and easily, starting at approximately 2.55 meters? And on which you can slip into the straps even faster and easier than into an oversized slippers? A board that never rears up uncontrollably, even with a 5.5 sail in strong winds? A board that always zips flat and controlled across the water, yet can be squeezed through tight turns on jibes, and, thanks to its short fins, also performs well in shallow, flat waters? On which the pressure is evenly distributed across both feet, even at top speed, and which glides completely independently through choppy water without the need for active stabilization? A board on which you can stand very relaxed and with a comfortable foot position, even in the comparatively far inner outer strap positions, thanks to the low leverage of the fins? The Ride 125 offers all of this – and the LTD version also has a sophisticated, lightweight construction. However, the three short fins (1 x 28 cm + 2 x 10 cm) generate little lift when planing. Therefore, the Ride can't be pumped up like a "normal" sporty freeride or freecarve board and then accelerated with pressure via the fins. Especially in light planing winds and on upwind courses, the support of a long fin is lacking – which, however, also requires more riding skill and body tension. Wide planing jibes are easy to achieve, and the board can be properly carved, especially in flat water. However, for perfect planing, the fins also offer less support in turns. Could this exceptional board be right for you? Then you can find detailed reviews on surf-magazin.de.
Surf conclusion: A narrow and rather small-looking, but very easy-to-surf freemove board with a very wide wind range and very easy control. Less powerful in light planing winds than boards with a long single fin.
Captions:
Three short fins and a slim tail enable very tight jibe radii, even at high speed.
Three short fins and the step deck are the standout features. The glazed, lapped nose completes the sophisticated look of the LTD version.

>true windsurf passion< that's the one and only reason to take 2 of our greatest shapes into production, making THE REAL DEAL affordable to more windsurf afficionados around the globe - look at Sylvia's new RIDE255LTD resting on the pebble beach at her Lake Uri home spot - admitted, it took some time to convince but now Sylvia is glad she chose it over some 'single-fin-slalom-oriented-shape' of brand XYZ on which she'd had to push hard on the rails and found it very diff to get in the outboard footstraps, not so with the Ride255 where you can find an easy-rider-stance closer to the center line. our taller and therefore early planing "Gleitwunder Concept Shape" gave the final push and now she's enjoying every to the fullest, using only a 5.5 and 6.5 Ezzy for propulsion.
