Happy Huisje Our little holiday bungalow lies in a residential area near Haamstede centrum. It's in cycle distanc

4 bedroom holiday bungalow in Burgh Haamstede, at the head of Schouwen-Duiveland. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a shower, the other one with a bathtub. Bicycles are rented with the house and there is a washing machine and dryer that can be used. The town is in cycle distance, easy to reach in the mornings for fresh breadrolls for breakfast. There is a small wood area 100m from the house, ideal t

o roam around, walk and tire out small children. The large beaches of Haamstede and Renesse are also in cycle distances. The are fine clean sand, ideal for sunning in the summer, building sandcastles and swimming in the North Sea. Endless space to walk or jog or fly a kite in spring or autumn. The wood of Westenschouwen is inviting for mountain bikes or endless walks. Nearby stable will take you inside the wood on horseback or take you for a gallop on the beach. Other nearby activities include a climbing/high rope area in the wood of Westenschouwen or windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing at the Brouwersdam

65 years ago tonight the land around our little house faced one of the worst natural disasters it has ever seen. The sea claimed over 1000 people when the dikes gave way. An unimaginable but fascinating tale!

65 jaar geleden braken de dijken; binnen enkele uren overstroomde Zuidwest-Nederland. Bekijk de special Watersnood, over die fatale nacht in 1953.
