SPORT OF THE WEEK - FOOTBALL

G.S.V.V. The Knickerbockers is the largest student football association in the Netherlands! With 17 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams, there’s a spot for everyone at different levels! Ranging from standard 3rd class to 5th class for men’s and 2nd to 5th class for women’s. ⚽

Every team trains twice a week and plays a match on Saturday and most importantly… enjoy the legendary third halves at the ‘Appleknockers Flophouse’🍻And in addition to football, our association is bursting with fun activities organized by members in and around our clubhouse.

Registrations open May 1st at 13:00 (1PM)

Think you’ve got what it takes for a selection team (Men: standard 3rd class, reserve premier, reserve first class; Women: 2nd and 3rd class)? You can already sign up for the selection trainings via knickerbockers.nl !

BIG NEWS ABOUT THE NEW SPORTS CENTRE

A significant step has been taken: the University of Groningen (RUG), Hanze University of Applied Sciences, the ACLO, Hegeman, and BAM yesterday signed a contract for the construction of the new Sports Center on the Zernike Campus. This marks the start of a unique collaboration that will result in a modern and sustainable sports facility for students and staff. Groundbreaking will begin in the spring of 2026, and the first users will be able to enjoy the new facilities in 2028.

Voor de mensen die helaas (nog) geen plekje hebben gekregen kun je je donderdag om 09.00 uur na inschrijven. Wees hiervoor op tijd! 🕘

Join the Ride is een traject waarin je onder begeleiding van de professionals in het filmpje traint voor de halve marathon van Groningen. Je krijgt naast deze begeleiding ook voedingsschema’s en optioneel extra trainingen. Alle informatie staat op de ACLO website. 🏃‍♂️🏅
