Last week, a Kendo workshop was given to students from the Theology and Religious Studies of the Groningen University. Through demonstrations and discussions, the workshop focused on the spiritual side of Kendo. Students also got a taste of Kendo!

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴

Kendo is, in essence, developing yourself by the way of the sword. In the last few years, several kendoka who are/were training at Shin Bu Kan showed very good progress.

Mariëlla has become 2nd in France Open! A strong tournament. Her kendo is still improving! Last time we trained together, I felt the speed and power of her attacks. There are a lot of training hours put in it! 😀

Stéphane, our French kendoka, is now training in Troyes (Dojo Troyen) in France and is doing very well. Fighting at a good level despite his grey hairs and winning prizes.

Tamara went straight to her goal and geta kendo at the source: in Japan.

Pieter is packing and will leave for New Zealand for half a year for his study. He is determined to practice kendo there too.

Fertile soil in Groningen, the seedlings go everywhere...

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗶𝗲𝗻

Kendo is in essentie jezelf ontwikkelen door middel van de weg van het zwaard. In de afgelopen jaren zijn enkele kendoka die bij Shin Bu Kan trainen/trainden behoorlijk gegroeid.

Mariëlla is 2e geworden bij de dames in de France Open! Een zwaar toernooi, en haar kendo wordt nog steeds beter.
Afgelopen keer dat we samen trainden merkte ik de snelheid en de kracht van haar slagen, daar zitten veel trainingsuren in. 🙂

Stéphane, onze Franse kendoka, traint nu in Troyes in Frankrijk en is heel lekker bezig. Knokt zeer verdienstelijk ondanks de grijze haren en valt in de prijzen.

Tamara ging recht op het doel af en haalt het kendo bij de bron: in Japan.

Pieter pakt zijn spullen en gaat een half jaar voor zijn studie naar Nieuw Zeeland. En vast van plan daar ook te trainen.

Vruchtbare aarde in Groningen, de zaailingen komen overal…
