Time flies when you're having fun, and the last few days flew by in a blur! Right now we're looking back on two fantastic seminars this weekend by Tuhon . As always we were joined by so many old friends who travelled from near and far to share our passion for martial arts and train together!

On Saturday we trained our stick based striking and body mechanics and a variation of our sungkete thrust drill. Afterwards we switched gears by translating these movements to knife. Finally, to close the days training we trained empty hand applications for knife defense.

Congratulations to Omar and Han, who passed their Yakan Dalawa and Lakan Isa exams on Friday evening with flying colors! Well deserved!

As always a big thanks is in order to Tuhon John for continuing to share his wealth of knowledge and skill, all our friends and participants who keep joining our seminars and of course for hosting the Sunday seminar!

Yesterday was the final event of the year for the members of Kumot Kali and Abunai Kali, and some of our friends and supporters from farther away. G**o Marc and myself wanted to do a special "end of the year" gathering to share some things we brought back home from the 7th PTTA Asia Conference. Considering we only had 4 hours (compared to a 10-day camp) it was challenging to decide what we wanted to show. In the end we settled on material covering solo baston, daga, doble baston and espada y daga subsystems.

Within these subsystems we drew inspiration from the following instructors:

Mandala .drckxsns - "behind the back"
Mandala Sebastian Poirier - espada y daga concepts
Tuhon - double stick principles and creative problem solving with daga
Tuhon - third set of espada y daga seguidas
Tuhon - 64 attacks, knife and karambit sequencing
Tuhon - support side knife work and bright orange solidarity
Tuhon Eain Floresca - abecedario, four walls and wara wara

Although we may have altered, added or combined some things, we are above all grateful to our instructors for showing us the way.

After a well deserved holiday break we'll be back in 2026! Stay tuned for more martial arts madness!

Yesterday we trained in some deeper levels of our level 1 daga curriculum, using the basic footwork and combinations to come to different applications. Afterwards we added a stick to our knife to make the connection to espada y daga.

We only have two more classes until our short break due to the PTTA Asia Conference!
