A landslide shifted a section of mountainside in Colombia, displacing an existing steel pipeline and causing failures in several places along the line. The ground kept moving, so a permanent steel repair wasn't realistic.

SoluForce provided a solution: 1,100 m (3,609 ft) of Heavy GT Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP), in this application operating at 90 bar (1,300 psi) for jet fuel service, installed in a matter of days by a crew of four trained at the SoluForce Academy.

The pipe was unrolled straight from the delivery coil, pulled under an existing road, and connected with Single Swage fittings. No heavy machinery, no large crew.

Four people, trained at the SoluForce Academy, got the line back in service while the terrain around it was still settling.

When offshore engineers contact us, the first questions typically are:
How long will it last?
Can it be laid directly on the seabed?
What water depths can it handle?
Why should we consider it instead of steel?

These questions rarely change. Whether the application is a riser, well intervention or static flowlines, the fundamental concerns remain the same: reliability, integrity and cost over the life of the asset.

That is why SoluForce focuses on practical offshore solutions. Long spool lengths reduce the number of offshore connections. A fully non-metallic construction eliminates corrosion risks. Different pressure classes accommodate a range of operating pressures.

Offshore projects may be complex, but the right solution is often surprisingly simple.

While our team is wrapping up a successful Borneo Pipeline Conference in Miri, we're already looking ahead to the next stop: Oil & Gas Asia (OGA) 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.

From 2 to 4 September SoluForce will be exhibiting at the OGA 2026, one of Southeast Asia's leading energy industry events. OGA brings together operators, EPC contractors, technology providers and industry decision-makers from across the region to exchange insights, explore new technologies and discuss the future of energy (infrastructure).

See you in Kuala Lumpur!

We have had may interesting conversations this week in Miri and we're looking forward to continuing those discussions next week in Kuala Lumpur.

How do you really evaluate the cost of a pipeline? Not by the price per metre, but by everything that happens to it over the next 50 years.

For steel in a corrosive environment that means inhibitor programmes, inspection cycles, replacement, and the downtime around each one. None of it shows up on the purchase order, but all of it shows up on the TCO.

This animation breaks down where the real cost sits and how a maintenance-free line changes the maths.

With a remote mine, the pipeline itself is rarely the challenge. Reaching the site is.

A conventional steel line means complex logistics, welding crews and hot-work permits before a single metre goes into the ground.

SoluForce provides a solution: a fully non-metallic Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP). This spoolable line arrives on coils up to 400 m (1,312 ft) and goes in at up to 2 km (1.2 mi) per day, laid by a small trained crew.

Corrosion-free by design, with a design life of up to 50 years buried. It is also reusable. If the site moves, the line can be recoiled and laid again.

In remote operations, every day of access saved is a day of production gained.

One of Indonesia's largest gold mines needed to move slurry 250 m (820 ft) uphill, through North Sumatra terrain. The alternative was trucking 50 m³/hr by dump truck. Costly, hazardous, and slow.

Steel was not the constraint, but the schedule was, as a welded line through that terrain can take months.

SoluForce provides a solution: 2.4 km (1.5 mi) of SoluForce Light and Classic Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP), operating at 45 bar (655 psi), carrying slurry with a high solids content. Installed by a trained local crew in two weeks instead of four months.

Spoolable coils up to 400 m (1,312 ft), installation rates of up to 2 km (1.2 mi) per day, no welding and no hot-work permits. The pipe is corrosion-free by design, so the abrasion and internal water that eat steel from the inside are not part of the equation.

In mining, the hard part is rarely the pipeline – the logistics are. That is where the cost is won or lost.

Offshore downtime does not wait for a pipeline schedule. When a customer in Malaysia lost production, they needed a line back in the water fast.

SoluForce delivered and installed 1,600 m (5,250 ft) of Classic Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP) within two weeks of the order. Operations resumed.

A pipeline through Indonesian jungle, installed in two weeks. Near 100% humidity, remote terrain and limited site access. Conditions like these are where a steel pipeline gets slow and expensive. Every joint has to be welded, every weld inspected and the metal starts it's corrosion clock the moment it goes in the ground.

SoluForce provides a solution: a fully non-metallic Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP) system, supplied on spoolable coils and joined with electrofusion fittings. Fewer connections and no corrosion to manage. This carousel breaks down how the line went in, and why the schedule held. Have you worked at a remote install where the site was the hardest part of the job?

Most of our portfolio exists because a customer somewhere had a problem, and for over 20 years those problems have usually landed on Peter Cloos's desk.

As Technical and R&D Manager he has helped turn them into systems that are designed up to 450 bar (6,527 psi) and 105°C (225°F), for places that tend to break conventional pipeline systems. So when Peter says the strength of SoluForce has never been just the products but the people behind them, he is speaking from experience. For more than two decades, he has been one of the people turning complex customer challenges into reliable pipeline solutions used around the world.

A steel flowline can spend months in permits, welding and inspection before it carries anything. A SoluForce line can be operational within weeks of the first call. The reason is the system. Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP or FCP) ships in spoolable coils, joins can be made with fully non-metallic electrofusion fittings and needs no hot work on site.

Fewer steps between the decision and the flow. Here is the journey, from enquiry to installation, in six steps. →
