A long time ago, before tre flips and 1080s, before THPS3 and X Games, before Back To The Future, before griptape, before the ollie… there was cruising. A way for shaggy Californian surfer dudes and betties to get their kicks when the waves were flat. Back then you didn’t skate the street, you surfe

d the sidewalk. Long hair flowing in the coastal breeze, you and your buddies rolled down the street in your hi-tops and knee socks, feeling the wheels bite and grip the tarmac as you carved up the pavement like you were riding a concrete wave. Fast-forward 50 years, and Amsterdam-based skateboard company Skills or Skulls brings the cruising lifestyle bang up to date with its range of retro skateboards in various sizes and colors. Inspired by 60s and 70s vintage street surf cruisers, the boards are authentic skate gear made with attention to detail, and lovingly shaped by hand to give a lifetime of riding pleasure. From the solid A-grade oak or maple decks, to the custom-made 5-inch trucks, 78A wheels, precision bearings, and inlaid bronze Skills or Skulls trademark, everything about these boards uses the very best modern materials while staying true to its roots. Skills or Skulls boards are available in three sizes, the Cruiser Long (30 inch / 76cm), Cruiser Medium (26 inch / 66cm) and Cruiser Mini (23 inch / 58.5cm), and are produced in strictly limited runs.
