Do you want to start the new decade with career confidence and success?

Then do this:

1. What has gone well in your career?
2. Which experiences did you have you're proud of?
3. Which mistakes did you make in 2019?
4. What have you learned from them?
5. What would you like to have happen in 2020?

6. Build a confidence drawer!
7. Believe in yourself!
8. Celebrate a year well done!
9. Do a personal SWOT to understand what your strengths and weaknesses are!

Write down every single success and mistake and remember to get all the small things in there too. They will help you with your confidence as we often forget our small victories and successes.

Taking an honest look back on the mistakes we have made and things we have done which we're not proud allows us to unravel the embarrassment, shame, anger or guilt we can feel about a certain situation.

These emotions are not helpful and do not allow us to see our learnings from a different perspective.

I went to bed last night feeling like a failure...
..after I launched a career coaching workbook and Career Pivot Planner 2020.

The launch was planned out, the ambassadors set in place. Ready. Steady. Go..and what happens? I hear crickets...

This e-book is overflowing with strategies on how to step into a new confident you, getting your s**t together, becoming aware of limiting beliefs, building a personal brand and crushing your 2020 goals. As a bonus, it will even teach you to SWOT til you DROP and negotiate like a boss!

People are coming to my website clicking away... but nothing... I'm frantically refreshing my inbox every 5 seconds, but nothing... the silence is deafening.

But this morning I reframed that feeling, I mind mapped my thoughts to get clarity and peace of mind.

I learned this:

- First of all, this is my first "real" launch of a product and it has only been up a day. I need to work on my patience.

- I need to stop the blaming and shaming of myself with "I'm not good enough." and start paying better attention to my internal dialogue.

- If, just if this e-book fails, that does not mean that I'm a failure.

We should instead be better at reframing perceived failures into learnings to better ourselves.

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧, 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧?⁣
⁣
When I was in my mid-twenties, I was looking for an internship, but I didn't want the same old boring ones as my classmates. So I started researching what my options were. I dreamed of working in NYC, and it was a dream that seemed too far ways and too unattainable.⁣
⁣
I found a web/advertising agency online and decided that I wanted to pitch an idea for an internship to them, what could happen? If they weren't interested, they could say NO.⁣
⁣
In preparing for my pitch, I designed an interactive website ( remember this was in 1999) 20 years ago. Nevertheless, I developed an online Kitchen. The URL was called Sascha's Kitchen. ( I love to cook up ideas, food, new fun ways of doing things) So this was pertinent and represented me well. ⁣
⁣
All the small kitchen appliances were clickable. So when your mouse glanced over, a popup would appear and you would learn a fun fact about me.⁣
⁣
I finished up my Online Kitchen and crafted an email to them, and I did so well that they wrote me back 6 hours later and asked me to fly in for an interview. I went to New York for the discussion and left with an official offer. I was moving to the Big apple! ⁣
One of my first assignments was to create marketing material to encourage women to learn how to use the internet. The client was none other than Oprah Winfrey. YES OPRAH!!⁣

Why I'm telling you this story now?⁣
⁣
If you are dreaming about changing your career or job, this is all you have to know:⁣
⁣
1. Don't be afraid of taking chances⁣
2. Believe in your ideas; you have them for a reason⁣
3. Being proactive and taking the initiative, we can always only get a NO.⁣
⁣

When planning your 2020 career goals do this:

-Break your 2020 goals into, quarters and monthly milestones

-Align your actions to your end goal and milestones

-Decide how much time you can spend working on it

-Block of time in your schedule.

-Check-in with yourself every day

-Eliminate your negative self-talk

-Remember your WHY

-Implement, implement, implement

and

Work on it EVERY.DAMN.DAY

⁣⁣Building a career strategy is like building a house! You need a solid foundation; if you don't have one, you risk everything falling apart around you.⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When building an effective strategy, you need to analyse yourself. What makes you tick? What's your strengths and weaknesses and understanding your values and motivations is a massive part of creating a winning strategy. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If I were you, I would write all this down; your brain can't keep all this clear for you to remember when you're implementing. And implementation is everything!⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
