BlackRockStar Blackrockstar is an Urban Rock Artist, Author and Talentcoach from Amsterdam. Released first single in 2002 and another set of EP's and albums.

Touring across the world visiting prisons, schools and institutions to share his lifestory from a young street criminal that got saved to a bring a message of hope! Day 2 of the Suriname Prison Tour is complete.

What a blessed day. We welcomed more people than expected, with 48 men and women gathering together to study God’s Word. Together with Brother Bert and Prison Fellowship Suriname, we opened the Bible, shared my personal testimony, and spoke about hope, restoration, and a new future.

The most beautiful moment? Twenty people made a decision to follow Jesus today. All glory to God.

Afterwards, we shared food, fellowship, and prayer. We prayed against depression, hopelessness, and for a fresh vision for life. For many, real freedom does not begin when a prison door opens—it begins when a heart is transformed.

Grateful to everyone who is praying, supporting, and standing with us on this mission. Please continue to pray for every man and woman who was present today. God is moving.

Prison Tour Suriname has started. Thank you for all your prayers and support; it has been sown on good soil. I pray for an abundant harvest, with many lives being touched and changed in Jesus’ name. Thought patterns being positively influenced and lives being shaped by God’s loving power.

Pray for a safe journey, for the passing of the books and prison diaries, and for inspiration for all the men, women, and boys we are going to meet. God is good 🙏🏿🙌🏿🇸🇷

BlackRockStar is the aka for Urban Rock Artist, Talentcoach and Author, Rivelino Rigters. Known for bringing high energy to the stage when rocking with his band onstage. Capable of captivating a live audience with his charismatic presentation, elevating the atmosphere to another level.

Started in the gospelscene as a choir singer, started his first band at 19 with his missionary friends from Philadelphia, started hiphop group MAD with some of his close friends, switched to Gospel Boulevard, did a year of Ronduit Gospel Choir and started his solo career as “Rivelino”. His 2nd hiphopgroup was called NOA, 2 years later he Initiated the urban rock outfit RIVE and toured Italy, the UK, Africa, Germany, Bosnia and Belgium with all these acts. Influenced by Jamiroquai, Anthony Hamilton, Lenny Kravitz, Ice Cube, Ben Harper and Gary Clark Jr.

Born in raised in Amsterdam in October 1978, started making music on his 17th in church and travelled the world. Released first single in 2002 and another set of EP’s and albums. What happens when hope walks through prison gates?

A few years ago, I traveled to Suriname for my very first prison tour. What started as a simple mission to encourage people behind bars became something much bigger.

Together with local partners, we visited adult prisons, youth prisons, and aftercare projects. We listened to stories of pain, regret, and broken dreams—but also witnessed resilience, talent, faith, and the desire for a second chance.

As someone who spent time in youth prison myself, these moments are deeply personal. I know what it feels like to believe your story is over. That’s why I return—to remind people that their past does not have to define their future.

This documentary gives you a glimpse into the lives behind the walls, the conversations that matter, and the impact that hope, mentorship, books, music, and faith can have on a life.

Every prison gate we enter is an opportunity to plant seeds of purpose.
