Two weeks ago, I moved out of London and to the Netherlands. I am now working as a swim teacher for , who are doing adult lessons for expats based in Amsterdam and the surrounding areas (Haarlem, Diemen and Assendelft). Looking forward to helping swimmers improve their technique and reach their goals 👍 🏊‍♂️ 🇳🇱

Every Thursday, I coach football down in Sunbury ⚽️ At the start of every session, they warm up by going through many different types of dribbles, turns and skills. The idea is that the players get as many touches of the ball as they can in the session, to improve their control of the ball and help them progress as footballers. In this video, they are trapping a high ball with their foot, attempting to control it first time 👍🏽

I have started teaching swimming at this fabulous location in Elstree, Hertfordshire. This pool is a brand new, world-class facility!⁣
⁣
It’s run by Kickstart Academy - a brilliant set up with loads of potential superstar swimmers. I’m delighted to be teaching here and excited to see what the future holds for !

So there is some explaining to do...⁣

As you know, 2020 has been a slightly interesting year 😅. Sadly, my time in Dubai is over. I couldn’t make it work with the swimming pools closing down. I’ve returned to my home city of London so I can regroup with my family and close friends, and consider a new plan moving forward. ⁣
⁣
I am delighted to say that I will begin working at a school local to me in September. It’s a role that I’ve been looking forward to since I can remember, and I can’t wait to get started 😃 ⁣
⁣
To supplement this, I will take on some swimming lessons in the area and also return to coaching football, something that I never had the chance do in Dubai; but I am excited to help young footballers improve their skills, assist them in enjoying the beautiful game and support them in achieving their footballing dreams ⚽️ ⁣
⁣
I’ll be using this page just as I did before - videos/pictures of my sessions (both swimming and football) with explanations of certain skills, achievements, my philosophy and other sporting announcements. I understand that my target audience is suddenly completely different, as I will be based in West London as opposed to Dubai Marina 😁. I hope you will continue to follow my journey, as I have lots of exciting adventures ahead (pandemic permitting).⁣

I am delighted that Dubai has started to open up slowly, but disappointed that the pools remain closed for now. Of course, safety is priority, and so we have to remain patient for now.

Competitive matches or sporting events will have to wait till next stage

Business is starting to open up again slowly in Dubai. The swimming pools will be open very soon, and I can’t express how excited I am!⁣
⁣
In the meantime, I have been thinking about how swimming lessons may be affected in the post-COVID era. ⁣
⁣
- I have a bag filled with equipment and toys to assist my swimmers. Seeing as these are often shared amongst a vast number of children, I will be ensuring that these will be cleaned with antibacterial wipes on a regular basis.⁣
⁣
- During the lessons, I often maintain at least some distance between myself and the swimmers, to evaluate body position effectively. Maintaining distance will therefore be simple for me.⁣
⁣
- I’ll be wearing a mask when coaching from the side of the pool. ⁣
⁣
- I will clean my hands thoroughly before and after each session.
