Congratulations on your retirement Brian Rowland 🇨🇦
 
Brian Rowland joined Team Canada in 2019 after winning silver at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta. Competing in the sitting category following a motorcycle injury in 2015, Brian never let the injury slow him down. Away from the slopes, he continues to surf, mountain bike and Jet Ski.
 
Rowland captured the first World Cup podium of his career in the final race of the 2022–23 season, skiing to third place in the men’s sitting downhill. He also represented Canada at both the 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games and the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Winter Games.
 
Landing that World Cup downhill podium was the highlight of his career, but Brian had plenty more to celebrate this spring, winning all three Canadian national titles in Kimberley, B.C., to cap his alpine racing career.
 
Brian would like to thank the coaches and teammates who helped create so many great memories on the road over the years. His journey has also been shaped by his admiration for Terry Fox, inspiring him to give back and mentor young athletes.
 
Now, Brian is looking forward to spending more time with his family, continuing to free ski, and taking on a new challenge: archery 🏹

Alpine Canada is pleased to welcome Andrew Baker as our new President & Chief Executive Officer.

Following a thorough search led by Alpine Canada’s Board of Directors, Andrew joins Alpine Canada after an accomplished career with the Canadian Olympic Committee, where he held progressively senior leadership roles and helped strengthen Canada’s high-performance sport system.

During his time with the COC, Andrew helped lead important initiatives across Canadian sport, including sport funding advocacy and work supporting the world’s first Indigenous-led Olympic and Paralympic bid for the Vancouver 2030 Winter Games.

Andrew joins Alpine Canada at the beginning of a new Olympic and Paralympic quadrennial and at an important time for both the organization and Canadian sport.

As President & CEO, Andrew will focus on strengthening Alpine Canada’s financial sustainability, growing participation and fan engagement, and building a world-leading ski racing system across alpine, ski cross and Para alpine that can consistently deliver podium performances.

We are excited to welcome Andrew to Alpine Canada and look forward to the experience and leadership he will bring to the organization.

Andrew’s first day with Alpine Canada will be September 14, 2026.

Canada Alpin a le plaisir d’accueillir Andrew Baker à titre de nouveau président-directeur général.

À l’issue d’un processus de sélection rigoureux mené par le conseil d’administration de Canada Alpin, Andrew se joint à l’organisation après une brillante carrière au sein du Comité olympique canadien, où il a occupé progressivement des postes de direction tout en contribuant à renforcer le système sportif de haut niveau au Canada.

Pendant ses années passées au COC, il a piloté d’importantes initiatives dans le sport canadien, notamment le travail de plaidoyer pour le financement du sport et le soutien à la première candidature autochtone en vue d’accueillir les Jeux olympiques et paralympiques d’hiver de 2030 à Vancouver.

Andrew rejoint Canada Alpin à l’aube d’un nouveau cycle quadriennal olympique et paralympique, et à un moment décisif tant pour l’organisation que pour le sport canadien.

Le nouveau PDG s’attardera à renforcer la viabilité financière de l’organisation, accroître la participation, mobiliser les partisans et bâtir un système de ski de compétition de calibre mondial en ski alpin, en ski cross et en ski para-alpin afin que nos athlètes montent régulièrement sur le podium.

Nous sommes ravis d’accueillir Andrew au sein de Canada Alpin et nous avons hâte de profiter de son expérience et de son leadership au sein de l’organisation.

Andrew entrera en fonction le 14 septembre 2026.

The energy was unmatched as the world’s best Ski Cross athletes took to the course for an unforgettable weekend of racing.
 
From start to finish, the atmosphere, speed, and excitement made this home stop one to remember.

National Champs wrapped up at 🏔️🇨🇦

From March 31–April 5, the nation’s best took on the slopes for a week of Super G, Giant Slalom, and Slalom Racing.
