Oh, this actor's life...one I had hardly dreamed of knowing, but rolled into somehow, is truly that proverbial gift that keeps giving. Always, at the darkest most challenging moments in life, it offers that lone spark of hope. You can plan all you want, map out your path towards familiar directions, define what success might look, but the Muses will not fail at showing you that there is much more to this than tinsel town's allure, the applause of a crowd, or the status accorded to us that just never felt deserved. Perhaps, it is the people that you meet, the souls that you touch as a servant of this craft, finding the power in their pain and the beauty in their brokenness...and teaching them to see the same in others. These are but the few unexpected honors that this artform has been generous with, and yet, there is more.
"No big deal" to some, especially to those unfamiliar with our humble beginnings, but this honour I will cherish--no, MEMORIZE!-- as one of the highest I might ever receive in this life. Indeed, the more you discover what ACTING is about, the less it becomes about recognition of any form.
And yet...and yet! when it happens so unexpectedly, and so heartfelt, it mends the deepest of wounds, and gives a spark hope where there seems so little left.
Gratitude, overflowing. Never had I ever expected to be seen, and thanked quite like this, for any of my ideas randomly roaming in my head, and by a Hollywood-based actor, director, and now, author, no less. But the greatest honor of them all...is the privilege to call her "Friend." No, my humble parents who gazed in awe at "those greater than us", and who, for all the right reasons, worried about what my future would ever hold, would never in their wildest imagination or lofty fantasies think that their only child's name would appear in a book written by one among "those who conquer other worlds." Oh, Mom and Dad, you most certainly know by now, that, after all, we all come from the same source of Light.
I know for sure that Lauren Loren E Chadima was touched by the Divine (she had shared with me her path to Spirit), and rightly so. None could've been a better bearer of Truths, and it was a stroke of luck to have landed in front row to see it unfold--and take part in it. THAT was the GIFT. The ultimate surprise that took me to L.A., right before Christmas, a last parting gift of hope to take along with me before the winds of change had come. To have been seen for my thoughts by someone so knowledgeable, that would've been more than enough. But she just had to say "Thanks" in the most meaningful way I've ever seen, and yet...I'm the one who's overwhelmed with gratitude.
As others conspire our demise, Spirit leads us to the comfort of each other's hearts. Resistance might shroud the way ahead, but to those persist, there is...
