A woman is such a complex biological system influenced by hormonal cycles, emotional demands, and multitasking, making quality sleep not just important, but ESSENTIAL. Its not our luxury to sleep, we just need it, and even longer, our nature is calling for that!
♀️ our brain is working every day on full speed, switching between emotional, social, and problem-solving tasks. In order to recover from this intense work it needs a good rest = more sleep.
♀️ we experience hormonal changes, monthly with menstrual cycles and major life stages, like pregnancy, breastfeeding, perimenopause and menopause. These are big changes which have big impact on us, we often don't understand what is happening with our body, diet or lifestyle, and special with sleep which is very much impacted.
♀️ we are more likely to experience insomnia, which is closely related to anxiety and depression. According to the Sleep Foundation, the impact depression can have on sleep is shocking, 80 % of people with depression have insomnia
♀️ women are more likely to have sleep disorders, and this can increase with age, incl. restless legs syndrome, sleep apnea or light snoring.
