Één van de zaken waar X-Yachts veel aandacht aan besteed, zorgen voor een hoog ballastpercentage van de kiel, wat resulteert in sneller en veiliger vaargedrag 👌

The keel of an X-Yacht is engineered with a lead bulb, combining strength with an exceptionally low centre of gravity. Because lead is far denser than other materials, more weight can be concentrated lower down, delivering remarkable stability, control, and sailing performance in all conditions.
To ensure both durability and hydrodynamic efficiency, the keel is encapsulated in a reinforced epoxy-glass shell. This creates an optimised shape while protecting against corrosion over time.
And thanks to X-Yachts’ advanced epoxy sandwich construction, weight is saved throughout the hull structure — allowing more ballast to be placed where it matters most: in the keel. On the X4⁹ MkII, for example, 42% of the yacht’s total displacement is concentrated in the keel alone.
Because exceptional build quality is measured not only by what you can see — but by what you can trust beneath the surface.
