The 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State has come to a close, and what a historic outing it has been for the Akwa Ibom Judo Team, proudly represented by our warriors from Wakuta Judo Club. This year marked our most successful National Sports Festival campaign yet, and weβre beaming with pride as we share the results:

This amazing medal haul reflects teamwork, discipline, resilience, and world-class coaching Hats off to our Head Coach, EWA Ekuta,for his steadfast leadership, as well as Assistant Coaches, Coach Kachi and Coach Ade, whose behind-the-scenes dedication shaped every victory on the mat.
We also salute our Grand Patron, Coach Catherine Ekuta an Olympian, the current Director of Sports in Akwa Ibom State, and a lifelong champion of judo. Your guidance and presence continue to uplift and inspire everyone in this sport.

ποΈ Congratulations also to her college teammate (Aremu Kehinde), who was awarded Most Valuable Male Athlete in Judo, a clean sweep!
Wakuta Judo Club is beyond proud of every athlete, every coach, every supporter. Youβve all made history together.
π On a somber note, we pause to extend our deepest condolences to the Kano State sports community, and especially the Kano Judo family, who suffered a tragic loss of over 20 lives in a fatal road accident, including the Kano State Judo Secretary and other dear sports heroes.
We grieve with their families and teammates, and we pray their souls rest in perfect peace. ποΈ
May their legacy continue to live through the sport they so dearly loved.
As we close this unforgettable chapter of the National Sports Festival, we say thank you to our champions, coaches, and supporters. The spirit of judo lives on, in strength, in community, and in honor.
