Youth Development Initiative - Ydi is a Youth Oriented Organization founded upon the unbreakable rock of passion and love for the success and full development of every human being on Earth irrespective of s*x, background, class, ethnicity, tribe, religion, race or colour. The organization is established to identify, encourage, and develop the talents of every youth right from cradle.
Ydi is fully run and managed by a team of professionals who are not only wizards in their various fields of endeavour but also have the talented skills, abilities and passion to unleash their knowledge to the right persons who, by their talents, need such knowledge to do exploits and move the world forward.
We are not just made up of professionals. We are selfless teachers willing to render our services FREE OF CHARGE so long as it will help you develop your talents. At Ydi, we are only satisfied and fulfilled the moment we get you developed. At Ydi, we believe it’s all about You!!!
BACKGROUND
Africa and Africans have been lagging behind in almost everything simply because of the lackadaisical attitudes parents and teachers showcase towards the development of their children and wards. It is quite disappointing that most African students studying at the tertiary institutions do not like nor cherish the course they study, even at the point of graduation. Statistics abound!
Parents’ directive to a child’s career is usually based on the degree of lucrativeness of the course in question and never as a result of the child’s interests, talents, skills nor abilities in it. In most cases, the innocent child, out of ignorance and carried away by the lucrative trending courses or the people he knows that must have succeeded after studying such courses, mostly choose a career path suggested (or rather enforced) by the parents and/or influenced by his peers.
The teachers who supposed to play counselling and advisory role to these children and their parents have kept mute about it, restricting their duties to only the classroom job. Hence, the child is denied the liberty of choosing his own career according to his heart desire, in line with his interests. The interests of his parents are rather satisfied against his own interests.
The consequences always remain dropping out before graduation, not feeling fulfilled even after graduation and change of career path few years after graduation.
Not just that, many youths have been massively and ignorantly deceived into engaging in illicit activities such as drug trafficking, child traficcking, prostitution and kidnapping. These are not only as a result of poverty but also attributable to poor guildance by parents and the elder ones as well as bad orientation coined from peer groups.
It is against this background that we at Youth Development Initiative-Ydi- teamed up to help salvage and checkmate this ugly trend in our society so as to uplift the career prospects of every Youth including the children.
