Parts Ways with Mavin Records and Jonzing World🥺😢😱
Nigerian singer Rema has officially ended his contract with Mavin Records and Jonzing World, the record label owned by Don Jazzy. The news was confirmed by both parties on June 1, 2024.
Rema signed with Mavin Records in 2019 and released his debut EP, "Rema," under the label. The EP was a commercial success, reaching the top spot on Apple Music Nigeria. Rema went on to release several hit singles, including "Dumebi," "Iron Man," and "Soundgasm."
However, there have been reports of tension between Rema and Mavin Records in recent months. In February 2023, Rema's former manager, MC Pikolo, accused the singer of breaching his contract with Alive Music, a record label that he co-founded with Rema. Pikolo claimed that Rema signed with Mavin Records without his permission.
It is unclear what led to the split between Rema and Mavin Records. However, it is likely that the singer felt that he was not being given enough creative freedom or that he was not being paid fairly.
Rema is now a free agent and is free to sign with any record label he chooses. He is also free to release music independently.
It is unclear what the future holds for Rema. However, he is a talented artist with a bright future ahead of him.
