OUR EAGLETS ARE ON COURSE AGAIN:
Defending Champions, Nigeria will on
Sunday confront Mali in the final of the FIFA
Under seventeen World Cup in Chile.
To qualify for the all-African encounter, the
Golden Eaglets defeated Mexico 4-2 early
this morning while Mali thrashed Belgium
3-1.
The Eaglets are record winners of the
tournament haven conquered the World
four times at the cadet tournament. They
won the inaugural edition, China 1985
during the Military regime of General
Muhammadu Buhari (as it was then known).
They repeated the feat in Japan 1993 When
General Ibrahim Babangida was the Military
President.
The Eaglets conquered the world again in
Korea 2007 barely some months after late
President Musa Yar'adua took over from
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Their last triumph was two years ago in the
United Arab Emirates where they thrashed
Mexico 3-0 in the final after mauling the
Mexicans 6-1 in the group stage of the same
tournament.
That was during the immediate past
administration of Dr. Goodkuck Jonathan.
The Eaglets have never won the cadet
championship outside Asia.
They are also yet to win it twice under one
President/Head of State.
But if our support and prayers combine
with their hard work and patriotism, they
can win the title outside Asia and twice
under PMB though during two different
eras. GO, EAGLETS GO. WE ARE BEHIND YOU. SO
HELP US GOD.
