D'Tigers Cruise Past Madagascar in AfroBasket Opener
Nigeria's D'Tigers got their 2025 AfroBasket Group B campaign off to a right note with a 77-59 victory over Madagascar on Wednesday afternoon at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda. This was the second meeting between Nigeria and Madagascar in AfroBasket since 2011, and again the D'Tigers came out on top.
Caleb Agada led the D'Tigers with a game-high 22 points. His teammates Stan Okoye (13 points), team captain Ike Nwamu (12 points), and Kaodirichi Akobundu (10 points) contributed to Nigeria's win. For Madagascar, Sitraka Raharimanantoanina scored 20 points, with Kiady Razanamahenina (13 points) and Mathias M'madi (11 points) also scoring in double figures. Nigeria's dominant third quarter helped secure the victory despite Madagascar's efforts.
