ONE YEAR OF PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP IN AHOADA EAST LGA

On this day, one year ago, the people of Ahoada East Local Government Area entrusted Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma with the mandate to lead following his victory in the 2025 Local Government Election.

One year later, that mandate continues to yield visible results. Through purposeful and people-centred leadership, the administration has recorded significant progress in critical sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, security, youth empowerment, education, Electricity and institutional development.

Across the Local Government Area, the impact of this administration is evident in projects and policies aimed at improving the lives of the people and positioning Ahoada East among the leading Local Government Areas in Rivers State.

This anniversary is not only a celebration of an electoral victory but also a reflection on a year of service, commitment, and steady development. While much has been achieved, the administration remains focused on delivering even greater progress for the people of Ahoada East.

# Eze Ake Emerges Secretary General of Uzugbani Ekpeye Logbo

Eze Ake, Esq. (BIIAB, NPN), has emerged as the newly elected **Secretary General of Uzugbani Ekpeye Logbo** following a keenly contested election held today.

In a highly competitive and transparent electoral process, Eze Ake defeated his distinguished opponent, **Chief Barr. Uchechukwu Igbegiri, KSC**, a former Commissioner in the Rivers State Government, to secure the mandate of the delegates.

In his acceptance speech, Eze Ake dedicated his victory to God Almighty, expressing heartfelt appreciation to the delegates and members of Uzugbani Ekpeye Logbo for the confidence they reposed in him.

He pledged to discharge the responsibilities of his office with diligence, integrity, humility, and honour. He also reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity, peace, progress, and the overall advancement of the Ekpeye people.

HON. SOLOMON ABUBA OCHOMA COMMISSIONS DOCTORS’ QUARTERS, EMPOWERS PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN AHOADA EAST.

The Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, has commissioned the newly constructed Doctors’ Quarters at the Primary Health Centre, Ahoada, and empowered persons living with disabilities through a comprehensive welfare and medical support programme.

The event, held in Ahoada Town, marked another significant milestone in the Chairman’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and promoting social inclusion across the Local Government Area.

The programme featured:

Official Commissioning of the Doctors’ Quarters at the Primary Health Centre, Ahoada. The project, constructed by the administration of Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, was commissioned by Dame Hon. Queen Uwuma Tony-Williams, JP, Member representing Ahoada East Constituency I in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Business Empowerment, Medical Outreach, and Presentation of Assistive Materials to persons living with disabilities. Beneficiaries received financial grants, wheelchairs, white canes for the visually impaired, crutches, and free medical services aimed at improving their health and livelihoods.

CITY BOYS MOVEMENT EMPOWERS MEMBERS IN AHOADA EAST LGA, RIVERS STATE

The City Boys Movement (CBM) in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, has once again demonstrated its commitment to youth empowerment, economic inclusion, and grassroots development through a remarkable empowerment programme held on Sunday, 23rd August 2026.

The initiative, led by the Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, Ahoada East LGA, Hon. Lawrence Ene, was designed to equip members with practical tools and resources to establish, strengthen, and expand their businesses, thereby promoting self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.

Beneficiaries received a wide range of empowerment items, including laptops, sewing machines, hairdressing equipment, barbing clippers, complete makeup kits, mobile phones, wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, deep freezers, and other valuable business tools and support materials.

Speaking during the programme, Hon. Lawrence Ene reaffirmed the Movement's commitment to improving the welfare of its members by creating opportunities that encourage entrepreneurship, skills development, and financial independence. He urged beneficiaries to make effective use of the items provided to improve their livelihoods and contribute positively to the development of Ahoada East Local Government Area.

The City Boys Movement remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that empower young people, promote inclusive development, and foster a more prosperous future for the people of Ahoada East.

The good people of Ward 10 in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday 3rd January, 2026, gathered in Ihuowo Town to celebrate members of the Wikematics family in the Ward and to reassure their unwavering love and commitment to the Wike Political Family under the leadership of Chief Barr. Benjamin Israel Eke, DSSRS.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of gift items, such as wrappers, rice, cash, etc, to women, men and youth groups.
The people were highly elated and appreciative of the new year's gifts and hosting by the two top aides of the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, and promised to continually support the Executive Chairman; and also Hon. Benjamin Israel Eke who has been a strong pillar of support for the Wikematics family of Ward 10 and the entire Ahoada East Local Government Area.
