Learning how to float on your back is one of the most important skills in swimming, especially for beginners who want to feel safe, relaxed, and fully in control in the water.
In this video, you see a break down of the floating technique ... step by step so you can practice with confidence.
How to Float on Your Back (Beginner-Friendly Guide)
1️⃣ Start by relaxing your body and letting the water hold you.
2️⃣ Keep your ears in the water, it helps your body stay horizontal.
3️⃣ Spread your arms and legs to create natural balance.
4️⃣ Lift your chest gently towards the sky.
5️⃣ Breathe in slowly, breathe out slowly… and let the buoyancy do the work.
How to Stand Up Safely After Floating
- Bring your knees toward your chest.
- Roll gently to the side.
- Place your feet down and push up to standing.
This avoids panic and keeps you steady.
