As president, I will withdraw police escorts from VIPs, Tinubu vows

Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has promised to reform the Nigerian Police Force for efficiency if elected as president in 2023.

The former Lagos State governor said he would free police officers from being security or orderlies for Very Important Personalities.

He added that police personnel on such duties would be replaced by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps officers.

This was contained in his manifesto released on Thursday.
