My Dump the day approach:
For some time now I have implemented a nightly process called "Dump The Day." I use this technique as a way to release stress and clear my mind before going to bed.
As my night winds down, I ask Holy Spirit to bring up anything to me that needs to be dumped. The things that come up usually vary and are often seem small and insignificant (if you've read the prophecy God gave me, you'll catch that), but I've learned they are things that need to be released.
It could be forgiving myself or someone else. It could be a reminder to pick up the phone and remind someone that I love them. It could be correction over how I handled something. Sometimes it's irritation and frustration. Whatever it is, I make a conscious choice to let it go.
In addition to the dump, we breathe. Slow deep breaths inhale for 8 exhale for 8 repeat. This will help you slow your bodies down and relax our minds.
Some of you may think this is silly and unnecessary but more and more we are seeing the connection between our soul and our body.
What if that insomnia is because you simply don't slow your mind down before going to sleep or an irritation that's stealing your peace? What if those headaches, allergies and knee pain are the result of carrying things and never letting them go?
If I'm wrong about the power of dumping your day, what did you lose? Not much. If I'm right, what did you gain? Possibly peace and freedom.
