Kwara Kiddies League Unveils Selected Squad for 2026 Community Shield Clash Against KFA
The Kwara Kiddies League (KKL) has officially announced the selected squad and technical crew for the highly anticipated 2026 KKL Community Shield fixture against reigning league champions, Kwara Football Academy (KFA).
The announcement was made by the League Secretariat on Wednesday, 20th May, 2026, as preparations intensify for the season-opening showdown scheduled to hold on Sunday, 31st May, 2026 at the KFA Pitch A by 4:00 PM.
The Community Shield fixture is part of preparations ahead of the commencement of the highly anticipated 2026 KKL season, which is officially expected to kick off on 6th June, 2026.
Now in its fifth season, the Kwara Kiddies League has continued to grow into what is arguably the biggest kiddies football league in Nigeria, providing a structured platform for grassroots football development, talent discovery, youth engagement, and competitive football for young players across Kwara State and beyond.
The annual Community Shield serves as a celebration of football excellence within the league while showcasing some of the finest young talents from various clubs. This year’s selected side features standout performers drawn from different teams in the competition, reflecting the league’s commitment to promoting grassroots football and developing future stars.
The selected squad includes promising players from clubs such as Unicorn FA, Barca Kiddies, Koller FA, Rectitude FA, Gaa Akanbi Kiddies, Busari FA, Achievers FA, Afrikan Kiddies, Future Stars, Surprise FA, and Makamz FA.
Leading the goalkeeping department are Abubakar Solihu Muhammed of Gaa Akanbi Kiddies, Awotunde Victor of Unicorn FA, and Atoti Taiye of Makamz FA.
The defensive line features Popoola Micheal, Abdullahi Kamaldeen, Abdulrasaq Nasirudeen, Soliu Kamaldeen, Abdulhamid Habeebullahi, and Yunus Abdulmajeed, all selected based on their impressive performances last season.
In midfield, the team will rely on the creativity and energy of players such as Mashood Kehinde, Afeez Azeez, Oluwaseyi Adeyemi, Abubakar Muhammed, Wilson Prosper, Sheu Abdulraheem, Salaudeen Taiye, and Adekola Abiodun.
The attacking department also boasts exciting prospects including Abdulhamid Yunus, Muritala Azeez, Olayinka Pelumi, Abdulwahab Abdulsamad, Afolabi Ibrahim, and Gidado Ajibola.
To lead the selected side, the league appointed Abdulrasaq Olojo of Unicorn FA as Head Coach. He will be assisted by Abdulahi Sulaiman Kayode of Achievers FA and Korede Cissey of Barca Kiddies FA.
According to the League Secretariat, the technical crew was carefully selected to ensure proper coordination, discipline, and tactical organization for the prestigious fixture.
In another major development, the 2026 KKL Community Shield will be live streamed on YouTube and the Wyscout platform, giving football fans, scouts, clubs, and stakeholders across the world the opportunity to follow the match live.
The live broadcast is expected to further enhance the league’s growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading grassroots football platforms and provide increased visibility for the young talents participating in the fixture.
