Why is the breaststroke kick called the “frog kick”?
Simple: look at how a frog swims.
The legs bend, turn outward, push the water backwards, then snap back together. That same movement is what you see in the breaststroke kick.
So when your coach says, “Give me a frog kick,” they’re not just making up a funny name. There’s actually a reason behind it.
