Let us appreciate the effort of Team Nigeria to the just concluded 24th Africa Snr Athletics Championships held in Ghana. The team was majorly made up of home trained athletes, and they gave a very account of themselves. There is a need for more for more funding to cut across every sphere of athletics development, especially in the area of regular competitions. Other areas such as facilities, grants, and other amenities can not be over-emphasized. Kudos to the coaches who produced and developed these athletes. You will surely be rewarded. If Botswana can produce world beaters at home, so can we.
