For Bruno Fernandes to say that Manchester United have the quality to face any team “without fear” already suggests there are certain teams they’ve approached with a little fear in the first place. 😂

And if we’re being specific, I suspect Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are high on that list. 😂 Arsenal’s intensity, control and ability to suffocate opponents can make even confident teams uncomfortable.

Bruno might be trying to send a message of confidence, but sometimes when you have to remind everyone that you’re not afraid, it becomes evident there are people you’re afraid of. 😂

Bruno Fernandes winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year ahead of Declan Rice will definitely divide opinion, especially among Arsenal fans.

Rice had a fantastic 2025/26 season and was one of the key figures behind Arsenal winning the Premier League title. His influence went far beyond goals and assists: controlling midfield, protecting the defence, driving the team forward and delivering in important moments. So you can understand why many Arsenal supporters expected him to win it.

But Bruno’s case is difficult to dismiss. He produced a Premier League-record 21 assists, scored nine goals, and was the driving force behind Manchester United finishing third and returning to the Champions League. Most importantly, the PFA award is voted for by the players themselves. (Reuters)

For me, this is one of those awards where Rice would have been a deserving winner, but Bruno is not an undeserving one. The real debate is what should carry more weight: being the standout performer for the champions, or producing an exceptional individual season for a team that finished third? đŸ‘‡đŸœ

Barcelona Still Hopeful of Julian Alvarez Deal as Arsenal Continue to Monitor Situation

Barcelona are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, with the Catalan club still hopeful they can find a way to complete a deal before the summer transfer window closes.

The biggest challenge for Barcelona remains creating the financial room required to make such a major signing. With the final days of the window approaching, player sales could become crucial as Barcelona look to raise funds and free up space within their squad.

Alvarez has made his desire to leave Atletico Madrid known, and Barcelona remain his preferred destination. However, Atletico have maintained a strong position throughout the summer and have repeatedly insisted they do not want to sell the Argentine forward, particularly to a direct La Liga rival.

The situation became even more interesting over the weekend when Alvarez was booed by sections of the AtlĂ©tico support during their 2-2 draw with Villarreal. Despite the growing tension surrounding his future, Atletico’s position remains a major obstacle to any potential move.

If Barcelona cannot raise the necessary funds or reach an agreement with AtlĂ©tico, Arsenal could suddenly find themselves with an opportunity.

That leaves three different forces shaping the final days of this transfer story: Barcelona have the player’s preference, Arsenal have the financial capacity to remain involved, while Atletico Madrid ultimately control whether Alvarez leaves.

Leeds United Preparing New Loan Bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk

Leeds United are refusing to give up on Mykhaylo Mudryk, with the club preparing a fresh loan bid for the Chelsea winger as negotiations continue.

Leeds are ready to return with another proposal after Chelsea rejected their opening loan offer. Despite that rejection, discussions between the clubs have remained active, suggesting there is still a genuine possibility of a deal being reached before the transfer window closes. (The Leeds Press)

For Leeds, the interest makes plenty of footballing sense. Mudryk offers something difficult to defend against when he is at his best: explosive pace, direct running and the ability to attack space behind a defensive line. In a Leeds side that could often find itself playing quickly in transition, that profile could give them another dangerous option out wide.

The bigger question is how quickly Mudryk can rediscover his rhythm. The 25-year-old spent a lengthy period away from competitive football before becoming eligible to return in July. The FA confirmed on July 31 that his period of ineligibility had ended and that he could return to competition immediately. (www.thefa.com)

That is also why a loan could make sense for all sides. Chelsea can give Mudryk the opportunity to play regularly without making a permanent decision on his future, Leeds could add a high-upside attacking option without committing to a major transfer fee, and Mudryk would get the chance to rebuild his career with consistent Premier League football.

Leeds coming back with another offer after having their first rejected shows this is more than casual interest. The deal is not done, but the pursuit is very much alive.

If Leeds and Chelsea can find common ground on the loan terms, Elland Road could become the stage for the next chapter of Mudryk’s career.

The only teams I see genuinely challenging Arsenal for the Premier League title this season are Chelsea and Manchester City. No other team comes close for me.

City have the experience and know exactly what a title race demands, while Chelsea have built a squad with enough quality and depth to stay in the conversation over a long season.

Others might have strong spells, but over 38 games, Chelsea and Manchester City will be the most closest base on quality squad depth.

Arsenal is in a very strong position to retain the title.

Tottenham are showing no signs of slowing down in this transfer window.

After agreeing an ÂŁ85m package with Manchester City for Savinho, Spurs are continuing talks with City over another move, this time for Omar Marmoush.

This is becoming a serious statement of intent from Tottenham. They’ve already invested heavily in rebuilding the squad, yet they’re still pushing for more attacking reinforcements. If Marmoush follows Savinho to North London, Spurs’ summer spending would move onto another level.

Whatever you think about the individual deals, Tottenham are clearly backing Roberto De Zerbi with serious money. The expectations after this window will be just as big as the investment.
