Wow, what a week! If you must know I am proudly Nigerian and this past week has been tough for the most populous black nation on the planet. I found out you cannot deliberately consistently carry out any form of activity without desire, if the process is started without it, interest will be lost in no distant time. This is particularly profound concerning children, you’ve got to make them want to do it and this applies to every aspect of life including sport/physical activity. It isn’t ok enough to want to force them to do a particular thing (or not), a sure and effective way to make them want to participate is by showing them the benefits of physical engagement. The covid-19 pandemic is here, and it has brought with it several damages and limitations to a lot of everyday activities. Whilst there are varying degrees and magnitude of impacts in different spheres and fields, the one that is particularly concerning is that of the courts, track and fields. Growing up there was a lot of noise and effort on the need to engage in physical activities and sports from a young age because there are so many physical, psychological and social benefits tied with it.
