GOMBE UNITED FC UNVEILS NEW TECHNICAL ADVISER

Gombe United Football Club is delighted to officially unveil Muniru Abdul-Azeez (Coach Sabo) as the Club’s new technical adviser.

Coach Sabo comes into the role with a wealth of experience, proven leadership, and an impressive record of success across Nigeria’s domestic football landscape.

His coaching journey includes a significant spell with El-Kanemi Warriors, where he served as Head Coach and was an integral member of the technical crew that played a crucial role in the club’s promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in 2012. He was also part of the technical setup that contributed to the club’s success in securing promotion and winning the Federation Cup in 2024.

Most recently, Coach Sabo served as Technical Adviser of DMD, where he once again demonstrated his capacity to deliver results by guiding the team to promotion from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the Nigeria National League (NNL) in 2026.

His consistent record of achieving promotion and competing successfully at different levels of Nigerian football reflects his tactical knowledge, experience, determination, and ability to build a competitive team.

Gombe United FC believes that his wealth of experience and winning mentality will bring renewed impetus to the Club’s technical department as we pursue our ambitions and strive for greater success.

The management, supporters, and entire Gombe United family warmly welcomed Muniru Abdul-Azeez (Coach Sabo) and wish him a successful and rewarding tenure with the Savannah Scorpions.

GOMBE UNITED FC COMMISERATES WITH AMBASSADOR HARUNA GARBA OVER THE LOSS OF HIS SON

The Management, Technical Crew and entire family of Gombe United Football Club wishes to extend their heartfelt condolences to Ambassador Haruna Garba (Magayakin Gombe) and his immediate family over the painful demise of his beloved son, Bashir Haruna.

The Club received the news of Bashir's passing with profound sadness. His death is indeed a great loss, not only to his immediate family but to all those who knew him and were close to him.

The Management of Gombe United FC prays that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, grants him Aljannatul Firdausi as his final abode, and gives the family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

This is to announce that we have dissolved our recently formed technical crew ahead of the new season, following stakeholders consultations and a review of the club's technical direction.

The Club would like to thank Eddy Lord Dombraye for his interest in working with us, and we hope to work with him in the future.

On this note, we wish to announce
Muniru Abdulazeez (Coach Sabo) as our technical adviser, and he will take charge of the club’s technical activities with immediate effect.

Also, Haruna Abdullahi (Alanpasiey) will serve as our chief coach.

This move becomes necessary so as to build a stronger, more united team for the season ahead.

Gombe United To Resume August 30th Ahead of 2026/27 NNL Campaign

The Savannah Scorpions are set to resume on Sunday, August 30th, with training activities commencing proper on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday and endorsed by the club's team manager, Mr Ishaya Usman, who said the resumption signals the official commencement of activities for the new season.

According to the statement, all retained players and identified players sourced by the club’s technical crew during the previous season are expected to report promptly as preparations gather momentum ahead of the new campaign.

The team manager assured stakeholders of the club’s commitment towards ensuring a successful season, stressing that the management remains focused on carrying out its responsibilities in line with the rules and ethics of the game.

He further disclosed that all invited players whose identities would be unveiled to the public in due course are professionals and are expected to contribute positively to the team’s ambitions for the forthcoming season.
