ABU ALI FOOTBALL CLUB
Abu Ali Football Club traces its origins back to the 1980s, when it was established under the name Armoured Bombers. The club was originally based at the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Headquarters, located within Obienu Barracks, Bauchi State, Nigeria. Formed primarily as a recreational and development team, it consisted of officers, soldiers, and youth from the barracks community, with a mission to foster unity, discipline, and physical fitness through football.
On December 1, 2016, the club was officially renamed Abu Ali Football Club in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, a distinguished officer and passionate supporter of the team. Lt. Col. Abu Ali, renowned for his bravery and leadership, tragically lost his life in combat on November 4, 2016. In recognition of his unwavering dedication and commitment to the club and its values, the name change serves as a lasting tribute to his legacy.
Today, Abu Ali Football Club continues to serve as a platform for talent development and youth engagement within the military community. By integrating officers, soldiers, and barracks youth, the club aims to promote sportsmanship, mentorship, and positive social values, using football as a powerful tool to inspire and uplift young lives
