SECOND STANZA OF THE EDO UNDER 17 FOOTBALL LEAGUE TO KICK OFF ON SATURDAY, 15TH JULY, 2023.
The organisers of the Edo Under 17 football
league have announced that the second half of the 2023 edition of the league will kickoff on Saturday, 15th July, 2023 after a three weeks break.
The League which kicked off on the 29th of April 2023 had witnessed a lot of breathtaking, entertaining and exhilarating actions. The winners of the maiden Edition of the league, Dynamo Academica FC who lost their first match of the season to Shooting arrows FC 4-0 are still very much in contention for this year's trophy, though they are in a tough rivary with Efe Urohcity HVFA who are currently leading the standings.
The first match of the match of the second half of the season will be the game between league new comers Shooting Arrows FC against the defending Champions, Dynamo Academica FC who will be on a revenge mission. Other games includes: Efe Urohcity HVFA Vs Shavik FA at the Urora Secondary school field, Elite Stars FC Vs Super stars FC at the Egba community secondary school, Upper sakponba, while Aidia Sports FC will be on Bye.
In an exclusive interview with the Chairman of the organising committee, Mr Harrison Omorodion Efe, he stated that the three weeks period had to be observed to enable teams prepare for a better second stanza and for the organisers to consolidate on their planning. He also said that the break served as a window for teams to strengthen their teams ahead of the remaining fixtures of the season.
On his part, the Vice Chairman of the organising Committee, Mr Harrison Okaka, a renowned football administrator and manager, he stated that the league has gone a long way in grooming and developing the players and that the league is very much opened to sponsorship and partnership with with both individual and corporate organisations.
The Media promotion director of the league, Mr Akhigbe S. Ekhiwere echoed the comment made by the vice chairman and stated that with the efforts of the league in carrying both the new and traditional media along so far, any investor into the league will certainly get their return on investment.
All matches are expected to kickoff at their respective locations by 11am on Saturday.
