The league will feature four privately owned teams this season including champions Remo Stars, Ikorodu City, Barau FC, and Kun Khalifat FC the most since 2019, signaling a shift toward private investment in Nigerian club football.

Expect a pause from 30 Dec 2025 to 6 Jan 2026, with the January transfer window running from 1–30 January—a critical stretch for clubs to recalibrate their squads.
