A farmer can do everything right on the farm and still lose value after harvest.

Nigeria loses up to 40% of its food production to post-harvest losses, with inadequate storage, transportation, and market infrastructure among the factors contributing to the problem.

That means the challenge isn't only producing more food.

It's building a stronger pathway for what we already produce to move, reach buyers, and retain its value.

A good harvest needs a good market.

What does the future of African agriculture look like when smallholder farmers are placed at the center?

At the TIME 100 Impact Dinner during The Africa Food Systems Forum - AGRF 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, our Communications Lead, Temiyeoluwa Alabi, joined industry leaders to discuss “Reimagining Farmer Prosperity: Leadership for Africa’s Next Food Chapter.”

From market access and financial inclusion to clean energy, decentralized processing, and climate-smart agriculture, one message remained clear: real transformation must reach the smallholder farmer.

At ThriveAgric, we’re building the technology, finance, and green infrastructure needed to move from pledges to verifiable ex*****on and towards an Africa that can feed itself.

A harvest is grown on the farm. But where does it go from there?

Behind every successful agricultural transaction is a network of farmers, aggregation hubs, storage, logistics, buyers, and market connections working together.

This September, we're taking you behind the scenes to explore how smallholder farmers access larger markets, how aggregation creates commercial scale, and how offtake turns harvests into opportunity.

From farm to market, let's follow the journey.

Happy New Month!

The most important part of an offtake agreement happens long before the purchase order is signed.

Before a buyer says "yes," farmers have already been supported, crops have been cultivated, harvests have been aggregated, quality has been assured, and storage has been secured.

At ThriveAgric, we build the systems that connect this work to reliable markets.

Reliable offtake isn't a single transaction, it's the outcome of a well-orchestrated agricultural value chain and that's how we transform agricultural potential into dependable market opportunities.
