The kids of this generation are very fast, they're smarter than most parents. Abi, how many of you could use android phones at age 7?

I remember my first phone was a Motorola Talk something... and it was given to me at age 16 after my Senior Secondary Examinations.

As parents we need to understand that our kids are exposed to more than what we as parents expose them to. They're mostly always in front of the TV when you're far away at work. They attend schools and listen to gists of how it happens in friends homes.

2019 is gradually rolling away. Like 15 days more and we'll be ushering in 2020.
Honestly, if there's a time to reminisce on your year so far; it is now.

Is this year ending like the previous ones, will it be ending better... or worse (which I honestly hope not).

So many people I know, myself inclusive have had quite an adventurous and fulfilling year. Adventurous, because we were able to scale some hurdles and transform into a better version of ourselves. Fulfilling, because we had results for the efforts😉

For me, I discovered another side of me I only heard or watched in motivational audios/videos.
Oh my! I wrote a book and sold hundreds of copies; honestly the thing still dey do me like film trick😃😃😃

How did I do it?
I was able to understand the power in the ability to keep learning, planning and making right Friends; people who brought out the best in me. I realised that I needed a Transformation that I could only achieve if I can change my mindset to lots of things; which I did.

How can you do it too?
• Place a priority on learning (books, courses, classes)etc;
• Plan how you want the year to be,
• Be determined about it ( I remember telling hubby in Dec 2018 that my 2019 was going to be way better. Men! Last year was👎for moi),
• Have a group of friends or atleast one that will be your accountability partner.

UNIQUENESS.

Aside from when you use this word above to describe the quality of a product you want to buy or own, have you ever given it a second thought about your life being unique?

Do you even understand how unique you are? Being the only one of your kind.

The easiest way to understand this is by looking at the palms of your hands; they're quite different from those of other people, including your family.

That uniqueness is what you should always carry around you in your businesses, in your careers, in your relationships or wherever you find yourself.

Trying to imitate others will only cause your downfall. Don't get me wrong admire what they do, learn from them and design it according to your own personality.

Don't compare or compete with others, it can break your heart. They're making progress but you aren't, yet. It doesn't make you a failure, times and seasons happens to us all.

Continue with your little efforts, don't relent, understand your uniqueness, build your process around it and before long; you'll be counting your successes.

I found this out early and so, I admire my friends and families who are succeeding in their chosen paths. I keep pressing on with my goals and visions, not taking my eyes off the price. Cause at the end that's all that matters.

September is here, three months more and we call 2019 a wrap. Some of us have been able to achieve our set goals, while some haven't. Something can still be done before the shout of Happy New Year.

Life isn't a competition. It is what you make of it. Buckle up and let me see you succeed.

Graduation and prize giving here and there; some of these children will make their parents proud while some may not.

This period is when you as a parent should learn and understand your child's weaknesses, learn how to help that child and bring out the best in him.

There will be lots of differences in their result sheets but please and please; this isn't the time to COMPARE or INSULT the ones with the "Ds" and the "Es."

It is the time to UNDERSTAND and help that child. Not all children are mathematicians or scientists. Some are poets and writers. Some are dancers and singers. Some are fashion designers and hair stylists.

Focus on their strengths while you work on their weaknesses. There's something unique in every child. Learn your child's Sui Generis; they all have one.
