INFLUENCE GROWS THROUGH HUMAN CONNECTION
One thing about influence:
People are more likely to be influenced by people they know, like, and trust.
Not because leadership is about popularity.
But because human connection matters.
It is difficult to influence people who feel disconnected from you.
And no, this does not mean pretending to be someone you are not.
Authenticity matters.
But so does self-awareness.
Sometimes, influence grows when we intentionally improve the parts of ourselves that create unnecessary distance between us and others.
For example,
If you are naturally introverted like I am, you may need to become more intentional about engaging with people.
Speaking more.
Checking in on others.
Offering help.
Creating room for connection.
Small things matter more than we realize:
Checking on someone who is sick.
Helping a colleague settle into a new role.
Remembering details people share with you.
Finding common ground despite differences.
Because while we are all different,
we are also deeply human.
And connection often begins with shared experiences, shared values, or simply making people feel seen.
Influence grows where trust exists.
And trust grows through consistent human interaction.
Leadership is not just about being respected.
It is also about being relatable, approachable, and trusted.
