πβοΈ BV, YEAST INFECTION OR TRICHOMONIASIS? KNOW THE DIFFERENCE π©Ί
Not every vaginal/Pen*s discharge means yeast infection. The smell, colour, texture and other symptoms can give you clues.
πΉ BV: Usually thin white/grey discharge with a strong fishy or unpleasant smell. Mild itching may occur.
πΉ Yeast infection: Usually thick, white, clumpy discharge with little or no strong smell. Intense itching, redness and burning are common.
πΉ Trichomoniasis: Discharge may be thin or frothy, yellowish/greenish or grey, with an unpleasant smell. Itching, burning, painful urination or discomfort during s*x may also occur.
β οΈ If you have foul-smelling discharge, burning, itching and pain, don't assume it's simply yeast infection. You may have BV, trichomoniasis, yeast infection, or more than one infection at the same time.
π― The safest approach is proper testing and treatment rather than repeatedly using different vaginal medications.
