ONE BIG FAMILY ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

In a keenly contested election held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, Sheyi Taiwo, popularly known as Shabash, emerged victorious as the new President of One Big Family. The election, which pitted Shabash against incumbent President Tanimu Musa Umar, was marked by intense competition but ultimately concluded peacefully and transparently.

Out of 30 members, with one abstention, Shabash secured 19 votes while Tanimu Musa Umar garnered 11 votes. Shabash, who previously served as Vice President under Tanimu Musa Umar, will now lead the organization for the next four years.

In a display of sportsmanship, Tanimu Musa Umar congratulated Shabash on his victory, acknowledging the election's fairness. Shabash, in his victory speech, expressed gratitude to all members, promising a tenure characterized by integrity and progress. He emphasized his commitment to working with every member to achieve the organization's goals.

Other elective positions that were unopposed are as follows:

Vice President: Silas Audu
General Secretary: John Founder
Financial Secretary: Linus Yakubu
Treasurer: Evancy Aboh Masaro
Provost 1: Yunana Friday Danladi
PRO 1: Salisu Jibrin
Welfare Officer: Matthias James

The electoral committee, comprising five members, was commended by all for conducting a smooth and credible process. With Shabash's inauguration, One Big Family looks forward to a new chapter under his leadership.
