Step into meaningful marine fieldwork and know that your training and data collection directly contributes to real, ongoing research along Mozambique’s coastline 🌊

Our Marine Conservation & Research Program offers immersive placements of up to 12 weeks in Zavora, where you’ll work alongside experienced marine scientists and conservationists.

Meet Carlito, our very own DMT 🌊

While he’s still completing his certification, he’ll be assisting on dives alongside our experienced team — gaining hands-on experience and building the skills needed to become a fully qualified DM 🤿

Mozambique has seen some of the largest sightings declines on record (Cullain et al. 2025; Venables et al. 2024). However, in Závora we still get large seasonal aggregations, likely linked to reproduction. When you join our program, you will:

☑️ Assist in data collection using photo-ID
☑️ Learn about underwater ultrasounding (the first ever in Mozambique!)
☑️ Participate in tagging and telemetry workshops
☑️ Be part of novel research and new discoveries
