‼️ MOLICEL P42A 21700 (ORIGINAL VS FAKE) ‼️
There are a lot fake Molicel batteries in the market this year due to their high demand. What’s even sad is that sellers are taking advantage by selling them at the same price with those genuine versions!
Fakes are getting better and harder to trace simply because these FAKE Molicels are wrapped using premium China brand batteries such as EVE and Sinowatt. Therefore simple capacity test and IR test will not just do it any more. And in terms of performance, u wont be able to notice if you’ve never used one before.

✅So here are some photos and tips on how to detect FAKE MOLICEL P42A✅
APPEARANCE
LABEL - The label font of the fake P42A is obviously larger than the original. If u find sellers with ‘3M19’ be sure to be careful. **refer photo
NEGATIVE TERMINAL - ALL ORIGINAL Molicel batteries have 1 thing in common in which its negative has a SHINY GRAINISH type texture. FAKE ones are only dull. **refer photo
POSITIVE TERMINAL - ORIGINAL positive terminal is slightly larger.
UPPER RING - fakes have thicker ring as compared to ORIGINAL ones. **refer photo
LENGTH - The fake version is slightly longer. Based on our measurement its around 73mm. **refer photo
PERFORMANCE
CAPACITY - Both ORIGINAL and FAKES have similar capacity and met within the spec listed by Molicel (4000mAh ~ 4200mAh range), but if u look closely FAKES Charged and Discharged capacity difference is larged (>200mAh difference) where as the ORIGINALS Charged and Discharged capacity is does not have much difference. **refer photo
(INTERNAL RESISTANCE) IR Reading - IR reading using IR reader for ORIGINAL and FAKES are similar. Need to use IR reader for this. **DO NOTE THAT U WILL GET SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT READING IF USE CHARGER ANAYLZER**
POWER - Application of FAKE Molicels on Flashlight, Vapes, Fishing rods, Powerbanks and all low amp demands application will not show much difference. Nevertheless power performance on the Use for Drones and Electric Vehicles (e scooter, e skateboard, EUC and others) will have noticeable effects of voltage sag, fast drain, and battery temperature flare as it demands constant high power and discharged.
