💥 Reality-Based Street Defense in Action! 💥

Proud moment seeing my team of coaches take the lead in our 2-Day Reality-Based Street Defense Program with government staff and auxiliary police personnel.

This wasn’t your typical martial arts class — it was real, practical, and law-informed training.
We focused on:
⚖️ Understanding Malaysian law and legal limits of self-defense
👊 Handling real-life assaults under pressure
🔪 Defending against empty-hand and knife attacks
💡 Building the right mindset — calm, controlled, and responsible

Seeing my coaches confidently deliver these sessions reminds me how far we’ve come — from a single mission to a growing movement built on realism, safety, and integrity.

DEBUNKING MY OWN PREVIOUS TRAINING METHODS

For years, I built hand trapping drills — layer after layer, variation after variation. I believed that more complexity and repetition would help my students develop the perfect muscle memory to react in a real fight.

I WAS WRONG.

Many of those drills looked fast, sharp, and flawless — but only because my students were subconsciously collaborating with me. They gave me just the right responses to make my moves flow perfectly for the camera. What looked like mastery was, in truth, controlled choreography, not chaos.

No one really talks about this — and definitely no one debunks their own videos. But I’m doing it, because the truth matters more than pride.

In a real, chaotic assault, those trapping drills collapse. There’s no rhythm, no cooperation, and no perfect reaction from the opponent. That’s why I’ve scrapped what’s useless and kept only what’s simple, direct, and brutally effective.

What you truly need are:
✅ Simple, accurate movements
✅ No hesitation
✅ Techniques that hold up under chaos

I’m no longer chasing flashy demos — I’m chasing real survival skills.
Train for reality, not for the camera.

Submitting Our Proposal to KPM — One Step Closer to Impact! 📨

A big milestone today! 🙌
Our proposal for the Safety Awareness & Preparedness Workshop by Urban Street Defense has officially been submitted to the Ministry of Education (KPM) for approval — thanks the main coach of Urban Street Defense (KL Branch) who personally delivered it to the department earlier today.

This submission marks a key step forward in our mission to bring safety education and preparedness training to more schools, starting with our upcoming sessions in Bandar Utama this January and February 2026.

We’re truly excited about the journey ahead — empowering students, teachers, and parents to stay aware, stay ready, and stay safe.

Fingers crossed as we await KPM’s green light! 💪
Every step counts when it comes to making a lasting difference in our schools and communities.

Throwback to our school visits in Bandar Utama on Friday — a fruitful yet challenging day as schools now require KPM approval for external workshops.

The good news? 🎉 We’ve secured one BU school with 4 slots for our Safety Awareness & Preparedness Workshop in Jan & Feb 2026 for all Form 2 & Form 3 students! They even want us to do one session for the teachers and parents too!

Next step: get the proposal and letter approved by KPM.

9 years ago, Switch Flipper was part of two organizations offering two distinctive training programmes.

Today, it has evolved into two distinct schools:
Ebright Public Speaking Academy, a public speaking school with multiple branches, and Urban Street Defense, a reality-based street defense school with campuses in Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.

Though both have grown in their own directions — Ebright focusing on communication and public speaking skills, and Urban Street Defense on real-world safety and physical resilience — we continue to share the same foundation.

Our core value remains unchanged:

> To break mental barriers, build confidence, and empower people to achieve more in life.

Although we have charted our own paths, our hearts still beat to the same rhythm — helping people grow stronger, more confident, and more resilient in life, each through our own unique teaching methods.

And perhaps, as we look ahead, it’s worth asking: can we come together once more?

To create something even greater — where voice meets strength, and confidence meets courage.
