This past Sunday, P**S took on the Japanese team, a formidable opponent indeed. It was a game full of tactics and skill as each team tried to out do the other. There were plenty of chances for each team to take the upper hand. The teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0. With a few words of encouragement by the P**S captain (Drew, who was also the birthday boy), P**S took the field for the second half. The pressure was mounting on the Japanese and eventually a glorious ball found D**g on the left wing. He managed to find the feet of Brendan, who turned his marker and had a one on one with the goalie. He kept his cool, finding the left hand side of the goal to give P**S a 1-0 lead. The Japanese clawed their way back into the game and equalized shortly after... The game was tied up 1-1 with a little more than 15 minutes to be played. The game was calling for a hero, someone to give their team the lead. There was a break away down the right hand side of the field, the Japanese defenders left stranded as Ming charged down the touch line. He produced a peach of a cross, finding Little Martin at the top of the goalie box. Martin had a soft touch and was gifted the opportunity for a strike, which he took. The ball sailed above the goalie, finding the back of the net. Giving P**S the upper hand with a 2-1 lead. The Japanese fought hard, but it wasn’t enough as P**S clenched the victory. There was a great time of fellowship after the match, as we celebrated Drew’s birthday with some beers and amazing food at Hana’s Thai Kitchen.
