Every child feels FEAR before they stand in front of an audience.

Sweaty palms.
A racing heart.
Shaky hands.

For nearly 20 years, I have taught hundreds of children.

I have celebrated their first speeches, their awards, their breakthroughs, and their graduations.

Yet nothing prepared me for the day I would have to say goodbye to one of them forever.

My mentor taught me everything about teaching.
But he never taught me how to carry the grief of losing a student.

I suppose some lessons can only be learned through heartbreak. 💔

My heart is mourning not just a student, but a young life with so much potential, so many dreams, and so much more to give.

Rest peacefully, my dear Inara. 🤍

💔With a Heavy Heart...

Last Tuesday, I saw Inara in class.
If someone had told me that would be the last time I would hear her voice, I would never have believed it.
💔Today, my heart feels incredibly heavy.
I keep replaying the little moments that seemed so ordinary then, but mean everything now.
"Good evening, Teacher Kasturi."
"Bye-bye, Teacher Kasturi. See you next week."
Those were the words she faithfully greeted me with every single class.
And now, there will be no "next week." 😭💔
I first met Inara a year ago. She joined my English class with very limited English. Speaking was difficult for her, and expressing her thoughts did not come easily.
But Inara was one of those students who quietly amazed everyone around her.
She was hardworking.
She listened carefully.
She learned quickly.
✨Even when she missed a class, Inara would still complete her homework and come prepared for the next lesson. Her English improved tremendously, and she scored over 90 marks in her last English exam!
✨Every achievement she earned was the result of her own determination and effort.
As teachers, we often think we have more time. More lessons. More greetings. More opportunities to watch our students grow.
But sometimes life reminds us how fragile and precious every moment truly is.
🌹Inara, thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.

🌹You were taken far too soon, but your determination, kindness, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.
